Currently, France travel restrictions include travel to Rennes. Entry restrictions
France has restricted any international travels from a country outside of the EU, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland. Foreign travelers who are not nationals of the above-mentioned countries or arriving from one of the above-mentioned countries must show they are essential travelers with a compelling reason for travel. UK travelers/non-EU and EEA nationals resident in the UK will not be permitted entry to France for non-essential purposes. Essential travel is still permitted. These restrictions do not apply to UK nationals who are legally resident in France. They will be allowed to re-enter the country, but may need to show proof of residence. Exemptions exist for spouses and children of French nationals, long-term residents with French residence permits and their spouses and children, long-term residents of EU, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland and their spouses and children on their way home, and healthcare professionals. Airline crew, personnel of diplomatic and consular missions and international organizations with offices in France and their spouses and children, and merchant seamen may also still enter. Mask wearing is obligatory for all travelers above the age of 11.
Entry requirementsTravelers will need to complete a ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with COVID-19 and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight. Travelers must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure. Children under the age of 11 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test result. Travelers arriving from outside of the countries listed above must have an Exempted International Travel Certificate to enter and transit France, showing that their travel is of an "essential" nature.
Quarantine requirementsTravelers are subject to a 7-day isolation period and take another COVID-19 PCR test at the end of this period.
Transiting rulesThere are special regulations for travelers transiting through France to return to their country of residence. Only direct transit to reach your country of residence is permitted. Transiting travelers may not leave the international zone and will not be admitted to France. Luggage must be checked through to the final destination, and travelers will not be permitted to leave the international zone to collect and recheck baggage. The duration of transit must be less than 24 hours.
