Both the Amtrak Acela and the Amtrak Northeast Regional operate trains to New York City from Boston and make multiple stops along the way. The Acela route is faster and more direct; however, it stops in a few interesting cities. For instance, one of these stops is in New Haven, CT. This city has connecting trains with the Amtrak’s Northeast Regional line as well as the Vermonter, the Valley Flyer and the Hartford Line heading north. The city of New Haven is known for being the home of Yale University. You’ll find plenty of events and festivals happening throughout the year, as well as top restaurants and museums. Apart from New Haven, both of the train lines going to New York City stop at the Providence train station. Providence is an interesting stop as it is the capital of Rhode Island and it played an important role in American history during the American Revolution.
Amtrak has two train lines operating the routes from Boston to New York City. These routes are via the Amtrak Acela high-speed train and the Amtrak Northeast Regional train. If you ride on either of these trains, passengers benefit from free Wi-Fi onboard, which is available for the entire journey. This is a basic service that allows travelers to stay connected during their trip, with the ability to check their messages and emails and browse online. Apart from complimentary Wi-Fi access, both Amtrak trains from Boston to New York City offer service from a café where you can purchase snacks or a meal, and both hot and cold beverages on board, as well as quiet car options for those who wish to work or sleep in silence.
