We had the WORST rental car experience EVER at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car location in Munich at 315 Landsberger Strasse on 20 Aug 2023. We scheduled to pick up our car at 9 am, but when we arrived the guy rudely told us that there is no car available for us that day. He told us it's our fault for booking a car on a Sunday and that he's not even supposed to be working that day because it's Sunday. We were adamant that this situation is not our fault and that he finds a way to resolve it, which with a lot of resistance on his part resulted in us getting our car at 10:30 am (1.5 hours late). Even more frustrating is that the car that he ended up giving us was sitting outside of the shop the entire time. I even asked him several times if we can have that car. Each time he told us that we can't have the car. For some reason, after an hour and a half of debate and struggle, he changed his mind and gave us the car. He showed no sympathy and continued to insist that it's Sunday and that he shouldn't be working. We ended up missing out on a tour that we had scheduled because of the late rental car. In addition, we were charged much more than what we agreed to per our rental agreement. On the rental agreement, it said the cost will come out to 105 euros. The guy at the counter verbally confirmed this as well. Our credit card statement shows that we were charged 166 euros. We are currently trying to recoup the difference. WHAT A NIGHMARE! We've never had such poor customer service and incorrect charges occur at any other rental car place before. This pompous and rude person at the counter should not be working in customer service where people are just trying to enjoy their vacation. This person should go find another job. On a positive note, there was another employee named Flo (or Floh?) who was really helpful in helping us with directions between our hotel and the Enterprise shop. He wasn't able to resolve the situation with the late rental car because he is just the driver, but he was very sympathetic and at least gave us the feeling that someone cares. Thank you, Flo!

When we arrived the did not have our car ready and said we would have to wait an hour a half for it. Instead they offered us an electric car even though I had reserved a gas one. This electric car was not meant for long road trips as it ran out of power many times and took forever to charge. I spent most of my day at charging stations and it completely impacted my itinerary. I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated. This was not the car nor the experience that I paid for.

The gentleman at Enterprise was very nice and professional, but unfortunately we did not get the car we had reserved. We had asked for. Wagon, but the biggest they had was a 5 series BMW, which was a very nice car, but not really big enough for what we needed it for the following day. The gentleman offered us to check at another Enterprise location, but we did not have time to wait. We returned the car the same day,

The pick-up was easy and the car was clean, but there was a lot of damage on the car. I suspect they charged the other renters for repair, and then kept the money without actually making the repair - multiple dings and dents on the back tail gate. They noted them for the record and, so far, they haven't tried to also charge me for them. When I picked up the care I was surprised to find that they charge 5Euro a day for travel outside the country. They said I could just pay for those days I was outside the country, but when I got the bill, they charged me for every day, even though I was only out of the country for 3 of the 8 days. So, in the end, they weren't any better than any of the other slimy car rental agencies.
It was an expensive experience to beware in the future

Pick up was a disaster! “Laura” could not have been less helpful. Pushy, rude, refused to listen — all at 10pm after an exhausting flight. Took 45 minutes at the counter after waiting in line. Started off badly when she confirmed we were dropping off the car in France, and then asked if we were going to another country. What? Then didn’t want to give us a car in our confirmed category, tried repeatedly to sell us on a more expensive car, and on the LDW insurance, and on a diesel car, and on a manual transmission. Would not listen when we said no, no, no no. In the end, after this endless wrangling, voila, a suitable car appeared like magic! “Oh, it’s brand new, just became available”! At 10:45pm? I don’t think so. This lady needs better training, or SIXT needs to not incentivize their CS reps to engage in blatant bait-and-switch tactics to tired foreign customers (which would be 100% illegal in the US)! Keep in mind that we paid close to $700 euro for a 3 day rental. This is absolutely the worst car rental experience my wife and I have ever had, bar none.

Not a great start to our vacation. The sixt representative at the airport counter was extremely unhelpful. I already booked the car online but when this man gave me the amount due for the rental he included the sixt rental coverage. I had selected no online. When I told him I did not want the rental coverage and I asked if my personal insurance would suffice to cover the car he just answered “I don’t know”. I asked him if other people usually decline the sixt insurance and he also said “I don’t know”. Also on the bill was a “premium location charge” of around $30 which apparently is for renting the car from the airport, however when I made my rental booking beforehand this charge was not on the price. I asked him about it and he said it was standard, but again, if it is standard then why wasn’t it on my initial reservation charge? Lastly, the representative asked if I wanted an automatic or manual transmission. I said manual. When we got to our rental car it was an automatic transmission. This employee is representing your brand very poorly. All the surrounding customer service representatives seemed more interested and helpful with regards to their jobs. This man who helped us was awful at his job.

at Kayak site, I thought I was go to ther next step and choose insurance but instead the booking got finished! there was no option to choose insurance variant at the time of booking. the Sixt site did not allow to see what isurance type is in the package and did not allow to add insurance either. I considered cancelling but there was no info if it is possible for free or at a fee. the insurance rates at the desk were rip-off.
The team at Avis was nice and efficient. Great help and patience with all questions asked. Also, got way better car than what we have ordered for no extra charge. Will do business with them again if opportunity present itself.
Very bad experience. Few hours before i picked the car, they called and said there is a breakdown. Offered a smaller size car and didn’t change the original price for the car i should get. Promised to provide me with the requested car as soon as possible but for 4 weeks i sent lots of emails and lots of calls but no response or action from budget. Really not satisfied and they took the money. Spoiled my holiday and had to make extra milage dur to that and changed all of my plans. Basically my holiday in germany was ruined because of that

This was terrible. I showed up at the counter, and this rude clerk called Susie tells me, and other customers, that they have no cars for the whole week and that their system is broken. So i start making phone calls and arranging for alternatives, and then a german guy walks in and she gives him a car!! This is unacceptable.
We reserved a midsize SUV for 4 adults and 4 large pieces of luggage. When we arrived, they claimed to have no vehicles at all available, and then “found” a huge 9-seater van. Needless to say, it is not enjoyable to drive such a vehicle around old European towns. The drop-off was equally annoying. The central Prague location has no parking lot or garage, so we were told to find our own parking nearby, go back to get the attendant, and then walk her back to the car. Overall a bad experience that we won’t be repeating.

We were expecting to pay about 300 EUR for the week. When we picked up the car in downtown Munich, we were told that there would be a 300+ EUR charge for taking the car across the border into Austria, and our card was charged for over 600 EUR. We were incensed and the woman at the counter was very unpleasant -- she said that was just was Europcar charged. Given that is was a Sunday morning and we were not at an airport with other options, we still took the car. Upon returning the car, our invoice shows a final payment of about 300 EUR we were originally expecting to pay (which includes a 30 EUR fee for crossing the border) and the 600+ EUR has been returned to our card. We don't know if this was a miscommunication their part, a misunderstanding on our part or what, but we were SO MAD to pay what we thought was an extravagant hidden fee for crossing the border that it tinged the trip for us. The unpleasant woman at the counter in Munich did not do Europcar any favors, nor did she explain what was going on.

Our pick-up location was reserved at the main train station, but when we got there, we found they had moved to another location since April. It would be more helpful if we could be notified earlier, It was raining and we had to look for the new location in the rain and it took some time.
Was not advised of significant additional charges required insurance before picking up car! The windshield wipers on the car were broken! To return the car was very difficult. Had to hunt down the Hertz office in Ulm Germany by asking other car rental companies where they are located. The online info was not correct. The other car rental places were open on Saturday but not Hertz!
I felt ripped off. I had a car rental for pick up in Munich and then drop off in Garmisch partinkichen. The latter was not possible and it led to a lot of complications and spoiled my experience. The people at hertz could not help me but wanted to charge me extra for drop off fees.

Good car and fast pick up, but they allowed us to book drop off to a zone that wasn’t actually able to have a drop off. We circled the block multiple times looking for the drop off per the itinerary address and spent an hour trying to contact hertz and find the location. We finally got the number for the local service which informed us that we shouldn’t have been allowed to schedule a drop off and the representatives at that location were very kind and helpful. Would have been a great rating if it wasn’t for this frustrating scenario! They never should have let us book this location if it did not allow drop off…
