The Amtrak Bakersfield Station is not very far from downtown Bakersfield. After your train arrives in Bakersfield, you can walk the short distance to the city center, or you can take the bus. Bus 5402 will take you downtown, and you will find buses departing throughout the day. It’s best to check the daily schedule if you decide to take the bus, as times might change from day to day, or there might be delays. After taking a train to Bakersfield, another option to get downtown is a short taxi ride. Several notable streets intersect the downtown area, and along the way you’ll see plenty of restaurants and shops. The Bakersfield train station has restaurants all around, which is ideal if you want to grab a bite to eat after your long train ride.
For train travel to Bakersfield, passengers will be glad to know that their luggage is in good hands at the Amtrak Bakersfield Station. Your baggage can be stored in Parcel Check for 24 hours. A small fee applies for each item checked. Passengers who don’t have a ticket to Bakersfield trains may still store luggage for 24 hours for a higher fee. Photo ID is required; this can be a driver’s license, passport, or insurance card.
