There is a network of bus routes in Henderson, though most people in the city do have their own cars and use those. The same company, RTC, which operates the buses also operates a bike-sharing system and can get you to or from Las Vegas. Fares are a little on the steep side, and you pay for a two-hour or 24-hour pass. Most people who come to Henderson do so to be near Las Vegas, but not right in the midst of it. You’ll need a taxi or a rental car to get there. The Acacia Demonstration Gardens is a public park that features different examples of how to grow gardens in a desert climate. To get there, you can take the 402 bus route, though the park is fairly close to the city center. Similarly, there is also the Botanical Cactus Garden, which is situated next to a chocolate factory. For food and drinks, many of the restaurants are located to the north of the city, around Whitney Ranch (bus 115) and Green Valley South (bus 111). Closer to the center of Henderson, you can head over to Valley View, just north of Heritage Park (bus 217). The options there tend to be more casual and fast-food style. There are also plenty of bars to choose from along the Boulder Hwy, which runs through the middle of the city. Many of these bars are joined to casinos or gaming areas, while others include live music and outdoor spaces. Hotels in Henderson tend to be located more to the north, where a lot of the eating options are, or in the center, close to Heritage Park.

While Henderson doesn’t have many annual festivals, as most of those events tend to be held in Las Vegas, it has lots of concerts and casino resorts, and its huge outdoor amphitheater also hosts a range of outdoor events. The Great American Food Fest is held on weekends in Henderson. There are lots of food truck options with a variety of meals at reasonable prices. The event is held in Sunset Station, in the north of town. You can get there via the man bus route, then walk for just a few minutes.
