When I got there, they charged me to add rental car collision/damage coverage, which I had already added and paid for with Kayak. The charge they added for coverage was $150, and I shouldn’t have been charged, because I already paid for coverage through Kayak. I believed there was a break down in communication between Europcar and kayak. I should have only been charged what I paid kayak up front.

The agent who we interacted upon our arrival was not helpful and was not empathetic at all. I forgot my physical cards and my husband’s credit card was acting up. We were trying to pay with cash/debit card and were told they won’t accept it and they do not allow apple pay or cash as the “whole of Switzerland” guess what? We were able to use apple pay anywhere and Sixt helped us get a vehicle without that unhelpful tone like that guy.

The reception staffs are nice and friendly to answer my questions. The car is brand new and wonderful SUV which accompanied my wife and I for over 2000km. However, the printing confirmation letter was found mistake in car picking up time that made us worry and choose an early pick-up. I hope the written material can be more accurate so that customer can feel safer.

the pickup office staff were delightful, and efficient. It was only when we reached our destination ( hundreds of miles up in a small village through winding, narrow roads) that we discovered the toddler seat had NOT BEEN INSTALLED. It merely sat on the back seat, without being tethered!!! Obviously we'd buckled the seat belt, but this is insufficient, dangerous and not what was expected. We also, despite having received an email telling us we wouldn't believe how easy it is to charge an electric car, found it very difficult to locate an outlet compatible with the car. Upon returning the car, we mentioned the problems we'd had, only to be told 'we weren't the first to say this'

Check-in took far too long (I had to give some of the same information again that they already had, like address, etc.)--20 min waiting
All went well until drop off (after hours) where they were extremely anal retentive about a minuscule scuff to the wheel insisting that it was chargeable damage, not fair wear and tear. This is despite their definition of wheel damage being a ‘gouge’. All other cars that I have hired have had some tolerance for ‘curb rash’. They attempted to charge me £440 Swiss francs for this, which is totally unreasonable. I had to return in person and after a lot of negotiation I managed to reduce the charge to 110 Swiss francs. They admitted that 110 Swiss francs was in fact the cost to replace to replace the wheel not 440 Swiss francs so this was a major overcharge. So overall it was an unnecessary stressful experience.

There was nothing that I like I rented a VW Polo and they have a Suzuki Space something I could barely fit 1 luggage in the trunk the transmission was total garbage the car barely made up hill in the Alps and the breaks sounded like total garbage called 3 time to have the car switched and I got as much help as asking a garden gnomes for help. 10/10 will never recommend Hertz Zurich

Lots of unmentioned costs during pick up.Some mastercards are not accepted by Hertz. Rent went from 84 euros online to 163 euros at the counter. Returned the car with full tank and 3 hours later got message from the bank that Hertz deducted 365 euros for the rent. Please explain…

Very friendly and helpful staff. I wish when I was booking the rental I had the option to select automatic vs. manual, that caused a hiccup during pickup but the staff was accommodating and helped get me the right vehicle.
So collection of the vehicle at Zurich, had to wait in line because only one staff member on duty. Not given paperwork on allocated vehicles condition. Informed was being upgraded to next sized car, of which I did not want as I booked an economy car to save fuel (as a result i spent more on fuel because of upgrade). Told no economy cars available!!!! Got to vehicle, which was covered in scratches, dents, marks etc (is this why I wasn't given the paperwork on condition of allocated vehicle). Informed lady in enterprise office who gave out the keys, wasn't interested in this car and told me to take photos of scratches etc and report them on the return. Told me she was too busy to look at vehicle (outstanding) During the use of this vehicle I was not impressed. Having returned vehicle at airport with full tank of fuel, and placed keys in security box, I have to this day received no confirmation from the company of the vehicles return, nothing. Not really good enough, and not what I paid for

Seemingly nice staff, but not a place I'd like to rent from again. The gentleman who helped us at the counter, had us fill out a very non-professional piece of paper to provide the information we already gave on line. What is the point of using computers to rent cars if you can't transfer information from one to another? Why fill out a silly piece of paper. Then he proceeds to ask if we have baggage? HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW WHO TRAVEL FROM THE UNITED STATES TO SWITZERLAND WITHOUT BAGS?! OF COURSE WE HAVE BAGGAGE! What a ridiculous thing to ask. Turns out a 7 passenger vehicle is pretty much useless for 6 people with bags. Here’s the biggest problem with Alamo/Enterprise. What a scam!! The first car they gave us for 6 people and bags was a Peugeot 5008. It was of course too small. The second car they gave us was a Renault Grand Scenic which they said was bigger. Well, it is only a few millimeters bigger. Where they scam you again is they charged me a 100CHF more for the supposed bigger car and the prepaid gas. I don’t know if those rip-off artists know that the Peugeot (the first car) has a 56 liter gas tank. The second car, the Renault, has either 50 liter tank or a 60 liter tank. So those con artists charged an extra 100CHF me for a tank that holds six liters less or for a tank that holds four liters more. A total scam!! 100CHF for an extra four liters of gas is 25CHF per liter. These are very bad humans. The least you could do is give me my 100CHF back. Then maybe I’d consider their services again.

Not sure if it was Alamo, kayak or probably QEED, but we were delayed initially and then the flight was cancelled, unable to contact we lost our booking due to ‘no show’ when I turned up the following day I paid nearly twice as much for 1 days less hire after losing all the money for the original booking

Excellent value, good service only downside is having to rent a 20$ child booster seat for 40$ for a week. Some other companies do not charge
The drop off point in Vevey that was listed does not exist. As a result we missed our train and had to pay an extra $140 Swiss francs to go to our next destination.

Avis did not accept the booking as the rates advertised were for a private corporate only. I am not sure why these rates should be visible on an open public website. In the end I ended up losing my booking and had to make alternative arrangements at a much higher cost.

Pick up in Kloten was quick and easy. I never like trying to be tricked into upcharging the price of my vehicle with add-ons such as extra insurance toll passes and such. These can double the price of your rental and your charge card covers you for the extra insurance. Having said that, we were charged over $550 for a scrape mark on the rear tire. Yes, a scrape mark. No damage to the rim and the tire was fine. We were only informed of this after we returned home. Unfortunately Avis, like almost all rental car companies are always out to "get you" with extra charges.

It appeared that the location is closed and they don’t rent cars to people (only for companies). So my experience was the worst. I’ve made some bookings for hotels as well, and lost money, because I couldn’t go where I wanted. I didn’t manage to find another rental company in my city and was very disappointed, as well as my family.

Did not make clear that only Nestle employees could rent car. Arrived after long trip and was told No other cars available. Had to be on vacation without rental car.
They gave us a different car that we had asked for. Instead of getting a car big enough with between 4-5 doors, we were given a 3 door Fiat 500, where we almost could not fit our package...
