Easy access nice sales associate

Pick up wasn’t very smooth, had to wait longer than expected.

The car booked wasn’t available they didn’t upgrade my can or give me any car Instead . the Agent’s were helpless, careless and so ignorant with me .

While Payless advertise a 100% smoke-free fleet rental car had definitely been smoked in. I tried to clear the air every time I got in it losing a can of febreze but could never overcome the smoking stench. Additionally, the car had numerous dings and the transmission made noise whenever it was in gear. The car definitely had mechanical, cosmetic, and smoking odor problems.

Good experience, everything was handled efficiently and on time The shuttle was ready to pick up to and from airport. The car we got was very basic so at times it struggled to drive uphill but we made it.

The overall was experience was terrible. The price quoted for the rental was correct. They quoted me $16.88/ per day for insurance but charged me more than $70.00/ day. The contract is all in Spanish, so it is hard to determine what the charge is. I found out when I check my card statement. I immediately went to the office in Merida to resolve it but was told they (1) did not understand English well enough, and (2) they could not do anything about it. The car was high milage, the sides and rear of the car were scratched, the interior seating was badly stained and dirty. they said they had no better vehicle available. I will not do business with Payless ever again. I also question the value of using Kayak in the future. Note, I insure to two late model vehicles for about the same amount over 6 month period then they charged for 15 days. This should be a crime.

Enterprise did a good job of servicing the rental.

Customer service was excellent during the pickup and drop off the car. Great employees!! Will just rent from your company for our family getaway weekends.

Better Direction picking up the vehicle

The staff at the desks have been great but the experience with the company overall has been disappointing.

I will not be renting from Avis again at least at this location as I waited 4 hours to pick up my vehicle. If anything I'd like a half of refund for the cost of the rental for that horrible experience. There's no reason then you had such a few staff members on with so many people in line to pick up vehicles

This was our worst experience -ever - with rental cars. We had a confirmed reservation before leaving Chicago for a 9 day trip to Boston, Washington DC, and Richmond VA. We only need the car for our Richmond leg of the trip. As we were in the Amtrak train station awaiting our train to Richmond, we received a text message informing us that our car reservation was cancelled because they didn’t have any cars available (supposedly because of some “accident”). We tried contacting Avis for a further explanation and possible alternative options. No luck! Our hotel reservation in Richmond was in a location that made trying to get around by walking impossible. We were there to visit our grandson who is attending the University of Richmond.. we were in Richmond fo 3 nights. We were able to use Lyft to get from our hotel to the school, but we wanted to do more in the way of sightseeing and visit colonial Williamsburg. We also needed a car for transport from our hotel to the airport for our return flight to Chicago and luggage storage between hotel checkout (11 am) and departure time (5 pm). So, all in all, Avis’s last minute cancellation of our confirmed reservation was nerve-racking and terribly distressing for us.

My rental was $40 more than I was originally quoted

Needed to change my reservation, but was unable to get a hold of the branch. Called national team, but they were unable to assist. Bad customer service all around.

The off site airport pricing was half the cost. I ubered over to the off site location and still saved money.

Misinformation with the agent at the car rentals. Then I was charged for 44.00 for insurance and it was refunded.

Getting in touch with customer service is almost impossible. When you call the Richmond location the phone just rings and rings but nobody answers.

Buy the poor associates at Richmond some new computers. It should not take thirty minutes to checkout because they constantly have to reboot.

The car was ready - the job got done -no frills service

They gave me a car that had broken down the day before, without properly fixing it. So I experienced transmission problems while on a bridge with no where to pull over, which put us in danger. The only reason I know that the car had previous transmission problems because we somehow got assigned the same tow truck driver who recognized the vehicle from the day before. Dollar was seriously negligent. I will never be renting from Dollar or their parent company Hertz ever again because I cannot support a company who willfully puts their customers in danger.
