Yakima sits at the center of Washington's wine country, a sun-soaked valley of vineyards, orchards, and hop fields tucked between the Cascades and the high desert. The Best Western Plus Ahtanum Inn makes a comfortable base in Yakima, Washington, close to the valley's wineries and tasting rooms, the convention center, and the farms and rivers of central Washington. Bright, comfortable rooms give travelers and business visitors an easy place to land, each with a flat-screen TV, microwave, and refrigerator. A free breakfast is in the morning, free parking sits right outside, and the pool and fitness room are there under the long valley days of sun. The Yakima Valley, with hundreds of wineries and most of the country's hops, runs south toward the Columbia. The Cascades rise to the west of Yakima, with ski runs and the Chinook Pass Road into Mount Rainier. Vineyards and orchards, river trails, and the road over the Cascades all sit close by. Settle in and let the valley set the pace.
