Minutes from the heart of the city, the Best Western Plus Olathe Hotel, Olathe, Kansas, is a welcoming base with a touch of Kansas charm, with an indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center, a complimentary hot breakfast of eggs, waffles, and fresh fruit, and spacious rooms with plush bedding, free Wi-fi, and flat-screen TVs. The setting puts a historic stagecoach stop, a nature center, and a farmers market close by, with event venues within easy reach. A heritage festival and a city marathon draw crowds each year. Olathe anchors the southwestern suburbs of the Kansas City metro in Johnson County, a name that means beautiful in the language of the Shawnee. Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, the last working stagecoach stop left on the old Santa Fe Trail, still runs wagon rides and living-history days, recalling the era when wagon trains rolled west across the Kansas prairie toward Santa Fe.
