Drop off was a breeze. Location and shuttle was great too. It would be so helpful if the company would just inform people of the extra charges ahead of time so they don’t have so many angry people at pick up feeing like they are getting lied to. There’s mandatory collision and liability insurance that are additional daily fees and you can only get them through their company. There’s daily extra driver fees, roadside, and they didn’t even give us a car that was comparable to the one we thought we were getting. Explaining all this ahead of time so there aren’t any surprises upon arrival would be so much better for customers. The “total” upon reserving online is never the case. It’s really another $500 on top of that. Just say so instead having hidden fees.

Grossly overpriced, Using Uber 2-3 times/day would have been much less expensive, and much more convenient. In addition, Budget substantial "daily" insurance fee, which was not disclosed at the time I made the booking. This part is completely unacceptable.

There was nothing to like about this experience other than the friendliness of the shuttle driver and desk associate.

The car we received was old and dirty. The steering wheel was peeling and the one headlight wasn’t working. Also, the rear hatch would shake and make noise uncontrollably when driving on the highway. Terrible reventar experience.

The cost of the rental was reasonable. I had also paid $165 for third party vehicle insurance. But once I showed up to pick up the vehicle, the mandatory liability insurance was over twice the cost of the vehicle rental cost. Plus, if you don't take their collision insurance, they require a hold on your credit card for thousands of dollars. Will never rent from them again.

Picking up the car was a very long process. Has to endure the sales of signing up for presentation to reduce the price of the local insurance .... $425/week for a minimum coverage!!! .... although it seemed to be negotiable. Apparently you reserve the car at a low rate and pay a high local insurance at check out!!

The pick-up experience was particularly terrible. The attendant working tried to sell me insurance that was more than 10x the cost of the rental itself. I attempted to deny coverage and have a hold placed on my AMEX Platinum card which did not go through for some reason. I am convinced that was done on purpose. I was clearly agitated and someone else there said the insurance would be $200 if my wife and I sat through a timeshare present compared to $550 if we did not. So a 2.5 hour timeshare later and still no credit for the insurance like was described. I'll never use this company again.

We reserved a large, 15-passenger van and were given 2 minivans instead. They said they would call us when a 15-passenger van became available, we never heard back. I also believe we were overcharged based on the pricing we saw online, but didn't have a screenshot or anything else to prove that 2 minivans were going to cost less than 1 large van.

Everything was great. Easy process during a busy holiday time. No delays, great staff, small and efficient car worked great and had impressive power to drive on the dirt roads in Mexico. Would recommend this company.

All was great, but car died an hour after the pickup. On the other hand they handled it really well. They got to the restaurant we were in about 30min. Drove us to our hotel, and brought the replacement in about 80 min. So not too bad…. We did loose a few hour on the beach on day one though.

Be warned about their insurance policy! I had to pay quite a lot, additionally, for full coverage that was unexpected. If you book through kayak, make sure you understand their policies before you arrive.

Our flight was delayed so instead of picking up the car at noon, we arrived at 1:30, and were informed that our car had been “given away” and there were no cars for us to rent. The dude basically just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do to help when we asked what we were supposed to do without a car. We then had to scramble to rent with another company (and of course, same day reservations are more expensive.) We provided our flight info on the rental reservation, so it was easy to see that we were delayed. (Also, 90 minutes late seems like an extremely short window to assume someone isn’t picking up their rental regardless.) The whole thing felt like some kind of weird scam because the other rental car vendors at the airport descended on us and tried to get us to rent a car at an insane rate (one woman quote me $150 per day. I went online and got a reservation for $150 for 4 days.) it was super frustrating and unnecessarily stressful. I will definitely never rent from Sixt ever again, and will actively encourage friends and family to avoid them. Still trying to figure out how to get the insurance refunded..
