A new car but engine trouble light came on for last half of the trip. Not the fault of the rental office.

I was not notified until I picked up the car that there would be a $200 deposit. The car windows and monitor were dirty. The rental agent was not clear on his words about another card. I tried 2 credit cards but with the additional $200 they were declined. I left the office and went home to call Avis. Gabriel at Avis recommended that I could use my debit card. That was not told to me at the rental office. When I went back to the rental office I spoke to the agent about the use of a debit card. His reply was the same response, Do I have an another card. When I asked about the deposit, he pointed me to a notice above my head. It was not on my email. This made me 2 hours late plus the frustration of not getting the car on time. Very poor customer service.

The car wasn’t even available and I wasn’t notified until a few minutes before I was scheduled to pick it up. They offered a different car at a much higher price which defeated the whole reason I was going to them - to get the low price. Very disappointing.

Hertz was great, my review is more about making a booking through Kayak instead of with Hertz directly: Making a booking with Kayak means you have no flexibility to make adjustments - so make sure you book exactly what you will need. You lock in a rate and dates, and then there is no way to adjust your booking. You can’t add or remove days, you can’t switch your drop off location. Hertz has no ability to make adjustments to your booking because it was made through Kayak at a guaranteed rate - and Kayak also can’t adjust your booking because you are technically booked with Hertz. We had extremely kind and helpful service staff with Hertz who couldn’t do anything to adjust the booking. I booked for six days and later wanted to add a seventh, they couldn’t do it even though the “weekly rate” would have technically covered the seventh day and no more money would have been exchanged. I even offered to pay for the extra day, and Hertz couldn’t do it - they literally cannot change any numbers in their system once the booking is made. I would book through Kayak again, it was easy to use and the rental price was a good deal, but I will be more careful and only book if I am 100% confident on the dates I need.

Called ahead to ensure when I dropped off the car I could have a ride back to my home. Pulled in to drop off car and they said oh we don’t have someone to take you home you have to get there on your own. I said wait a minute I called you to make sure that I have a ride home you told me I would and now you’re telling me I have to call a cab?. Finally after a half hour of arguing with the idiot an extra worker showed up and they took me home. I was always a loyal renter at enterprise I’m looking for an alternate source now

They did not have the car available for me they let me know at the last minute had asked for 15 pasanger then the changed it to 12 then they didn’t have the 12 and at last they didn’t have anything for me and didn’t even care I had plans they gave the worst service
