The car rental was not caught up with the times. Thrifty should be called cheapy. It was an overpriced car rental. If you want to be reminded of old school cars- and walk around and unlock all cars manually and crank the windows down manually- then order here.

Through Kayak, I reserved a vehicle a specific vehicle at a specific Hertz location for $30.00 a day. I arrived to be told that it was my responsibility to call the location to confirm the vehicle or any vehicle was actually available. They had one vehicle available and they charged me $50.00 a day for it. I was told that they reduced the rental cost of that vehicle to $50.00, under the circumstances. However, I don't believe that I should have been charged more when I reserved a $30.00 a day vehicle, which was also far more fuel efficient. This was wrong on so many levels and then I was blamed.

I was driving to Pasadena when my car started malfunctioning. I called my son and he found me a rental car to pick up in Pasadena on Arroyo Seco . My car barely got there but I managed to make it and when I went inside to rent my car the man said we don't have any cars. I showed him my reservation and he checked his computer and said this happens all the time with these discount services like Kayak and others. They rent cars and we don't have the inventory. The rental place did not even have a bathroom for me to use. Nothing but a waste of time. Your system is unreliable. I won't use it again. I took the train home. JC from San Diego
