I rented a pickup truck. Was told the lot was packed with vehicles but no trucks , I said if that's the case maybe an upgrade, give me the best you can. I was told that would cost extra. I stated you have a lot full that aren't being rented and you won't give me any sort of deal, I was give a Chevy equinox, the cheapest suv they had, there was a completely full lot(loaded up for summer as I was told) trucks , SUV's , large sedans. And I was given a Chevy equinox

It was absolutely the best vehicle we have rented for the price in all the years that we’ve needed to rent a vehicle. A car ran well, it was very comfortable, and the folks at budget in Bangor, Maine, were absolutely stellar to work with. Wouldn’t hesitate to rent from a budget car rental.

Arrived in Bangor with an impending ice storm and was told that no cars in Maine have snow tires because 'they might be driven in Florida where snow tires are illegal.' Ice storm comes and I can not even drive the car because there are 4 inches of ice on the roads so I had to cancel plans and stay at the airport hotel. I go to return the car early and find there is no ice scraper in the car. Had to borrow one so I could move the car from the airport hotel parking lot to the Hertz lot which was about 10 ft away. I returned the car a day early and I was told I might get a refund (i paid for 2 days). Overall, it was not the best experience and the Hertz folks have not been at all helpful.

Had to cancel this and pay a $200 fee because they were not open due to a flight delay. I had to go with Avis who stayed open until the last flight of the day came in. Very thankful for Avis and I’m upset about the fact that Hertz would not refund me or allow me to check in later.

When picking up the car, the staff stated I had received one of the best rates they had seen. It was a great experience all around and I had a car when others travelers were unable to book one directly with the car rental companies.

Employees were efficient and friendly. Car was clean and relatively new. Price for rental was ridiculous. I understand inflation is up 5%, but this car cost 300% more than usual. Price gouging will make short term profits increase, but is a poor long term strategy for a business.

They failed to adequately inform me that on Sunday, they close at 12 noon. Our plane did not arrive until 6 PM and because we had reserved the car “off site” there was NO vehicle at the airport counter available for us. Yes, I should have known that 12 PM is 12 noon but it slipped right by me and we paid the price. It cost an extra $400 to rent a vehicle from another company.

The young women at this location were both exceptional in Customer Service, Friendliness and Service! They both seemed to enjoy their jobs. The shuttle drivers were also prompt, helpful and friendly. My experience could not have been better. I would highly recommend renting from this location!

I booked a vehicle on KAYAK for the same day. Got confirmation email etc. The rental company immediately called me and left a message on my home number - which I did not see until after I came to the rental desk. It essentially said that not only they do not have the vehicle class I needed - they had NO vehicles to rent. Makes one wonder how the reservation system and KAYAK work.
