Terrible. Broken system. Waited 3 hours for car. Then my license “wouldn’t work” so I had to use my wife’s license to rent the car. I’ve rented with budget two weeks ago with no issues. I have a perfect driving record. Will not use budget ever again. Terrible.

When I tried to check in using when prompted by an a Budget email, I kept getting an error saying that the rate was invalid. When I called Budget about this issue, I wasted several hours of time on the phone, but no one that I talked to could verify my rate or pre-check me in. One rep said that they thought that due to demand, that I wouldn't be able to get the car at the rate I had booked at anymore. Eventually someone just said to see if the rate I was booked at would be able to be honored at pickup time. It turns out it was (I different rate wasn't even discussed), but I had a lot of problems with the car that they gave me for my one-way rental from DTW to MKE. It turned out that 3 of the tires on my rental were bald on the inside which I didn't notice/check for when I picked up my rental car. One blew on the freeway and the tire was shredded on the inside. It was difficult to deal with Budget about this issue. Eventually I replaced the one tire that had blown and then drove the car on non-freeways to the nearest Budget rental to swap out my rental. I'm still waiting to see if Budget will reimbursement the money to replace the expensive low profile tire that I had to replace myself.

I reserved the car for $101 and when I picked it up they tried to charge me $178. When I asked why the price increased vs my reservation amount, they made up a bunch of excuses. I had to argue with them for 5 minutes before the manager came out and adjusted the price back to the reservation amount. The drop-off experience was good and the person there confirmed that the final cost matched my reservation.

Well, didn't get the car but got charged $50. That charge is buried in fine print that I had to "expand" to find. My flight was cancelled, 6 hour delay, trying to reschedule on my phone at the airport. Got another rental car but didn't cancel the Budget reservation. Yes, I see now that I should. But why did they ask for my flight number then ignore the cancellation? We've had other issues with Budget adding extra charges, etc. Usually met with "that's the way we do it", "that charge should have been displayed", lots of not my job kind of stuff.

Had to change out a flat and the spare was in good condition. More importantly, it was so easy to get a hold of a real human being on the phone to explain my situation and tell me where to go to exchange for another car.

The premium suv I reserved wasn’t so premium. A ton of air sound would come in from the windshield once I hit 45mph as if the weather strip was not properly replaced. The breaks were also very bad the vehicle should have been serviced before being rented out.

Everything went very smoothly. It would be great if Detroit airport had a covered area for the cars. It was raining and I had to run to my car which is kind of a drag when you have luggage, etc.

The line to pickup a car took over one hour. The staff were rude and dismissive to those in line, as well as to questions from guests. Not a great experience in any way.

Rental desk staff were friendly and helpful and once at the desk, paper work done in less than 5 mins. Less number of rental desk staff compared to the number of customers waiting in line to pick up cars - spent more than an hour waiting in the line.

Everything was excellent except for one thing; the amount charged on my credit card was way higher than my rental agreement and the final amount upon return. The National car rental location was Detroit, Mi Airport and returned to Brownsville,Tx airport. Something happened in the transition and hopefully National can correct the problem! I have a dispute reference number and I am waiting for the call from National at this time.

We had a delay because the vehicle we reserved wasn’t on site and ready at the appointed time. We had to wait a little over an hour past our pick up time. They were as accommodating as they could be considering the circumstances and they adjusted my rental cost fairly to compensate me for the inconvenience. Outside of that, the experience was perfect and the vehicle was great. I would definitely rent again.

I was refused a rental car because the ID reader was not up to date and did not recognize my driver’s license. It is a basic enhanced real ID from MN. Very disappointed and frustrated. I also waited at least 20 minutes for the manager to come “verify” that they couldn’t rent me a car. They didn’t even try to help me find a solution. What a waste of time. Shout out to Enterprise for finding me a rental!

Easy pickup. I love that you got to pick your own car and go. Return was alittle tricky as I had to adjust my drop off and staff didn’t seem to handle that well. But the manager came over and was extremely helpful and took care of it within minutes. Same date and time just different location. Very minor things. And would have been excellent all around. Car had a few areas they missed in cleaning. And the staff upon return , one lady could have handled it more professional that came over to help but minor in the end

Van was brought up, left for 6 miles, then low tire light came on, went back, swapped stuff to another van. Sienna was learning curve. Had an emergency, at home. returned car to DTW lot used 6 of the 9 days. Got no receipt from accepting agent. Got home to my wife in hospital and found a receipt from Thrifty charging $198 for AP conc fee which I told them was already in the previous contract. Called 3 times, Thrifty refused to reverse. Even when i said they had 3 days rental revenue to use the van. Didn't want credit for the days, just not to pay twice for airport fee.

The vehicle is clean but not well-maintained. The suspension was very stiff and felt like it did not exist. The door light alarm was always on, even I closed all the doors firmly several times. And I had to walk across the parking lot to find the car in the rain by myself.

When I got there, there was line and no one behind the counter. That was because there was only one person working and she had to go out to have the vehicle for each customer brought up to be cleaned and handed over. My rental was for 3pm, I didn't get out of there until 4pm. She was nice an courteous. The vehicle was great. But in a day that had already gone wrong, that extra delay was not helpful!

Representative chose a different vehicle (GMC) for us when a RAV4 was reserved and available. In her defense, there was minor damage to the back bumper of the RAV4, so she thought we wouldn’t want it. We would rather have been asked instead of the assumption. When asked about the RAV4, she quickly and politely switched us to that vehicle. Minor inconvenience.

Pickup was difficult. There was nobody at the desk when we went. Drop was fine butt they charged me for the days even though I only rented the car for one. Very disorganized.

When I picked up my vehicle, the agent told me the parking space where my rental was located. However, I did not understand him, and had to return to the rental booth to ask again. It would have been helpful to have the parking space clearly marked on my paperwork. Overall, though, everything went smoothly.

Pick up was a disaster, long wait and much confusion between Avis, Budget and Payless. Car turned out to be an SUV that was backed up to a light post base so the rear door couldn’t be opened to put in luggage. Drop off was also a mess as there was no place to put the car and no directions to bus stop. I was directed into a spot which was partially blocked by a plastic post so I couldn’t get in straight. I also was not expecting to have $250 charged to my card when the rental was PREPAID!
