Car had dog hair and 3/4 tank of gas. But my paperwork said I had to return it full and would be charged if there was dog hair. I tried to talk to the Hertz agent about it when I checked out the car but the office door was locked and there was no one to walk the car with me. Then Hertz tried to charge my card a fee I did not authorize when I returned. Poor service. I went with Hertz because I thought it a reputable company. I won’t choose them first again.

It's was fast, but when you purchase the insurance online you shouldn't have to pay more at the counter or it should state you will need additional if you purchase on line.

They changed the rate on me at the airport and was double what I signed up for on Kayak

Avis reps at the Denver Airport rude. I went to the wrong location. I went there and entered the preferred location and the guy there was rude. I said “hi, how are you?” to which he responded “mmm-hm”. What? I then asked I if I was at the right location and he said if I wasn’t a preferred member then my reservation was going to me on the other building. I had to get out to find this other building. Once I got there, I waited about 5 minutes which it was not bad. I gave this other rep my confirmation and he was not able to find it. Gave my name and he told me I was in the wrong location but he could still help me and move my reservation to the location I was in. I was very thankful for that but then we go to the almost end of the transaction and I wasn’t paying attention and my wife said why are we being charged $1018. I asked the rep and he said because of the taxes and taxes are higher at the airport. I was going to pay like $328 at the other place so now we were going to pay close to $700 extra for taxes and going to the wrong location. We went back and forth about and he was finally able to get it to like $418 or something like that. My wife signed and he was not able to print the receipt because their printer was broken. I asked for a copy to be emailed to me. I gave him my email and we verified it. He said he sent it but I never got it. I didn’t think to much of it, I just wanted to get out so we went outside to pick up our car. When we got there, the car was so dirty from the inside and the outside. Had coffee spilled all over the place and just dirty. By that time we had already spent 2 hours trying to get a car. I went back and asked to cancel my reservation. I explained to another rep what happened and he apologized about the car being dirty. I also let him know I didn’t have the receipt because the other rep was supposed to email to me since the printer was broken but I never got it. He want able to find me at first and I let him know my reservation was moved from the original location to the one I was in per the other rep. He went back to talk to the rep that helped me with my reservation and he came over and asked what was wrong so the other rep explained that I wanted to cancel because the car was dirty and I didn’t have the receipt since I never got it from him. He asked if I didn’t want another car and I said no, just a refund. Then they decided to talk to each other right in front of me about why I wanted to canceled like if I wasn’t present. When I tried telling them again to just refund me, both reps were looking at me talking about me and completely ignoring me. The one rep helping me at that point had to asked the other rep who helped me before like 3 times if he should cancel it or not. He did this in front of me. He had a piece of paper which the other rep apparently had to sign to cancel it. He came back and said he took care of everything and it should be all cancelled and I should see the refund in a few days. A charge of $1018 is pending on my account and this happened on Saturday March 5th. Mind you I was polite the entire time. I will never ever rent from Avis again. Worse customer service ever and their vehicles are not clean.

The pick up process was absolute chaos. We waited for more than an hour, and when we asked the employee if this level of busy chaos was normal, he said a normal wait was 2.5 hours! So we had it to comparatively easy, but still quite bad. Will not rent from this company in future.
