It would have been important to have the local team inform about how complicated it is to find charging stations in Texas. And once you find them, that being foreign makes them complicated or impossible to use (some asks for local phone number, others ask to download apps that aren’t available in foreign App Store accounts).

Bait and switch again. I rented a Nissan Pathfinder online and they tried to give me a Chevrolet Equinox. I'm tired of the car rental industry constantly getting away with advertising one product and providing an inferior, especially at the whim of the guys working in the parking lot. One group ahead of us boked a compact car and drove away with a mustang. Another booked an intermediate car and ended up with the Infinity. After 45 minutes of demanding to be treated fairly, speaking with two "Managers" and going to their sister car rental counter, they finally found a Honda Pilot which actually is a somewhat "similar" vehicle to what I booked.

Long lines at pickup, very few staff working. We were turned back right before exiting the airport and we’re told to get a booster seat for my daughter who is 7 and does not use a booster seat normally at home.

Beware of additional fees. I booked and payed right away for the rental but was charged an additional $275.00 USD for taxes and a few other fees. That was a significant amount, I would have looked at other options closer if I knew about this. Thrifty was also aggressively pushing additional things on us such as insurance (covered by credit card), toll passes, vehicle upgrades etc. I declined all but the guy still put on a toll pass at $15.00/day. I noticed this reading the receipt while walking to get the vehicle. You can avoid tolls through the nav system. I had it removed but it was a pain to do it. I hit one toll in 2 weeks and it cost me $5.00. We also reserved a 7 seat vehicle but they tried to give us a 5 seat one. There wasn’t an argument about this but it was annoying to have to deal with it. At the end of it all it just felt shady how business was done with Thrifty.

Jonathan at the counter said it was mandatory to get insurance when it is a one way. That is not true. Back seats full of dog hair.

Car was stinky and smelled like smoke, there was food or something smeared on one of the seats. Guy at the counter tried to upsell me a bunch of unnecessary insurance and services that I repeatedly told him I didn’t want, but he insisted I needed it.

The 2018 Rogue was fine. The two hour wait in line to get a vehicle was awful out of the George HW Houston airport. Also, wasn’t a fan of the agent hard selling the optional insurance. Multiple “no thanks” was met with a “so you just want the basic insurance “? Nope. Then the look given to me of having just made a huge mistake was also off putting. Again, vehicle was fine and the price was great! Returning was very efficient!

Upon arrival there were 400 people in line for pickup. It took over 3 hours to get the the counter. When I got to the counter I brought my itinerary which had the price I still owed, around 56 dollars. The representative said I needed to buy their coverage on top of the final price. I told her I've never had to do that because I have personal insurance to cover car rentals. I asked if she would like to see my my insurance card and she said no. She told me because I booked through a third party app, this was just the way it is and I'd need to pay the added cost. When I was looking at the receipt the next day, it said it was an additional charge. Final price at pickup became 101 dollars. I tried calling their customer service line, but there isn't an option to discuss your rental agreement. I just feel deceived. I won't use Dollar ever again and will ask for management if I'm told that's "just the way it is".

Our flight was an joir delayed and The van did not show up at the airport. Kept calling and talking to their customer service who said the office closed at 4 and no kne can be tgere for pick up. Was a complete disappointment and will never book with this service probider as no nody even tried to arrange any alternative

They have been fraudulently charging my card. What was supposed to be a $214 van rental has now reached $1000+ just in asinine, random charges. Don’t do it.

When I got there the lady (which was clearly on a bad mood) told me I had to pay an extra fee ($57 per day) because I was a foreign driver... I have rented many times from the big companies and never heard of such thing... also they said I had to pay an extra $25 because I was returning the car after hours (8pm) And over all I got a very damaged Van with over 90k miles.... I would never recommend this company unless they clear out their “policies and fees” upfront
