Staff was very kind and helpful, pickup and return very easy. What surprised me was that at my reservation the estimated costs were $363.03, but when I picked up the car it was $724.37 and I don‘t exactly know why they were doubled. It would be fair if your offer listed the full charges. So unfortunately I can‘t recommend Kayak/Avis after this experience. Yours Dieter

Avis did not have the car I reserved. They gave me a smaller car. Not happy as my colleague is tall and was not able to sit comfortably. Hope Kayak can compensate me in some form. I appreciate it

They gave me a free upgrade due to the minivan I reserved was not ready. By the Tim I went to pick up the vehicle the minivan was ready but gave me the free upgrade anyway since I had to wait a couple hours extra to pick up.

Both at the check in and check out the representatives were polite and friendly.

Quick and easy

During the rental period the car I was driving was recalled by ford. My experience with the competency of the road side assistance company (Urgent.ly) was horrific! The competency of the Urgent.ly staff and the communication with the rental was terrible. The short story is it took more than 6 days to coordinate a swap of vehicles and in the end I was the one who provided a solution. Not sure what I would have done if I was stranded with a broken down car.

I was charged an additional day for turning in the car 20 minutes late…I arrived to the drop off location at the airport 15 minutes early, but I couldn’t find a parking spot in the return rental lot, and there was nobody there to check me in.

We liked the friendliness of the employees and how they worked as efficiently as they were able to while getting us set up. What wasn't great, though, is that when my fiance and I arrived at the rental place to get our car for our trip, we had to wait for about 30 minutes because there weren't cars available yet at the location. When we arrived after our trip at our return location, we were charged for 3 gallons of gas even though our tank was only one tick below the Full tank mark. Other than these two things the car was clean and worked well and the staff was helpful and patient.

We had to pay a day extra although we returned the car on the date given on the rental agreement.

It is the worst experience I have ever had getting a car. I showed up at 7:30 when they said they open for pick up and no one was there. I hung around until 810 and finally some people showed up and said the employee was running late to open the store. So far not a huge deal. Then I tried to call Hertz at the airport and he get no answer. Then I called Hertz corporate office and told them I needed a car and they said they could get me one that would cost me an extra $40. After the offer when I questioned my car was disconnected. I called back a second time to the corporate office to see if I would be able to get a car because a local employee told me they often did not have them. I was assured I could get a car, but again was told there was nothing they could do about the store not opening. They were unwilling to make any effort to help me get my car on time. I tried to call back to the Hertz store multiple times at both GSP and at Pleasantburg and no one would answer the phone. About 910 Pleasantburg contact meet for the first time. I was told I could pick up a different car at 10 o’clock. Two hours later I picked up a car. Hertz company and local office was completely unwilling to work with me and no one would answer a phone. I ended up being two hours late for my appointment because hers was not willing to help in anyway. Because if they’re terrible customer service, I will never rent a car with Hertz again.

Made a reservation with a confirmation number . Called to confirm the address hours later before the pick up only to be told they didn’t have a car for me . When I asked when they planned on letting me know they didn’t have a response

We were promised a vehicle that I reserved a few months ahead of time as I knew about the shortage of rental vehicles When we arrived after our flight arrived, there were no more vehicles for us to rent, nor was there anything a supervisor could do despite having multiple cars from corporate on the lot. (The young man at the desk said that they were no longer associated with corporate). He called the supervisor only after I repeatedly asked him to do so, and even then, there was nothing they could do, leaving us stranded at the airport unable to get to our final destination that night. They wouldn't comp us for our hotel stay and Uber to get to the hotel, which was booked THAT night (as our Airbnb was about 90 minutes away and we had NO vehicle to get there). Awful experience, awful company. Never again will we book with Hertz. Unprofessional and inexcusable.
