I called early in the morning on the day of my travel and booked a car with Enterprise in Hobbs NM. When I found I could get a car one way, I booked my airplane seats. It was a late arrival, so I wanted to be sure we were covered so I got in touch with Enterprise Car Rental Customer Service and the person was very responsive. I was checking to be sure the booking was good. The Agent assured me it was good. I got to Houston and thought I would check with Enterprise in Hobbs. They told me they closed at 5 o'clock. I told the Lady that answered at the airport my problem. I also told me I was told they were open at the airport till 8pm. The Lady promised to resolve the problem and call me back. No return call as promised. Last minute boarding the plane I called now in a panic; someone answered the phone. The man told me they had me covered but I had to take a 12-passenger van. There was ice in Albuquerque and a 12-passenger van in the wind and ice would be a skating rink. Sorry they said nothing they could do. I had to hang-up as the plane was on taxi runway. I arrived in Hobbs NM and the deck at the airport was open and there were 5 people in line renting cars? WHAT? What miss information had I been given! I did get a VX Tiquan which was better than the 12-passenger van. Forgot to mention while I was in Houston, I called first to customer service for Enterprise and an East Indian or Pilipino answered the phone. I explained to him what had happened and asked for help. He told me sorry I can't help you! What says I! He left the phone unattended on his deck for 5 minutes. He finally came back and SAID I CAN'T HELP YOU!! I asked him for his badge number or his ID number and he told me he didn't have to give me anything! That then ended the conversation. I was really furious with that lack of professionalism. I finally did manage to get the VW in Hobbs which was a stroke of luck but the check engine light was on, and the cruise control didn't work. I rented a car there about 3 weeks ago and it was a Volvo exceptionally nice car but it was past its maintenance point. I am rather worried about what will happen to me the next time I think about renting a car from Enterprise again. In the last 3 weeks I have spent about $750 or $800.00 with Enterprise, and I think I was treated incredibly poorly for a customer dealing in good faith. Robert Horne Rio Rancho NM
