After making the reservation on line, I went in person to the office to add an additional day to the rental. After waiting in line for 30 minutes at an office in downtown Boston staffed by a single person (the rare office not out at the airport), the person in the office did this and quoted me a price which was essentially the same as the initial quote with one more day at the same daily rate. When I went later to print the rental information which was emailed to me I discovered that the price had gone up by 35% (for taking a 9 day rental to a 10 day rental) with an increase in both the base rate and the daily rate. After close to an hour on the phone with unhelpful customer service, I cancelled the rental and went to Enterprise instead — a price comparable the original quote from Hertz, with an office staffed by multiple people eager to be helpful. An experience which will shift my loyalty in the future.

I booked a reservation and was not told that the location CLOSED at 4:00 on Saturday! My train didn’t get in until after 4:00. It cost me several HUNDRED DOLLARS to get a car at the airport.

Tried to rent me a Tesla, but where we were going did not have easy access to charging stations, then had to pay to “upgrade” to a lower class gasoline car. This was not requested or mentioned in reservation, but what can you do. I tried calling to change my vehicle drop off location to another near by location and customer service was poor, lady barely spoke English and could not understand what I was asking. I basically gave up. The car was otherwise fine.

The location in downtown Boston instead of airport was the worst possible location. Traffic in Boston made it difficult to reach your office. Staff at office was good. Car was dirty when picked up.

Rental was for the wrong location. Called Hertz to get it fixed and they wanted to charge over $500 for a 1 day rental so I wasn’t even able to get a car from them.

This was a complete disaster. I did not end up renting the car, because the pickup location was not at the AIRPORT!! I was supposed to pick up the car at Boston Logan, but after standing in line for an hour, I get to the counter, and the agent informed me that the rental was booked for DOWNTOWN Boston.... why would that have been? Why would I go downtown Boston and not pick up straight from the airport? I asked the agent if they could transfer the reservation and he said he could not, there was nothing he could do and they didn't have any extra cars available. Then I called the downtown office, and they were CLOSED for the day! I had to scramble to find another rental car company that had available cars. I was out the entire cost of the rental since I prepaid, and there is no change or cancellation available. I'm sorry, but this was unforgivable and I will never do car rental business through this website again.

You guys screwed me. I specifically asked for a car at Logan airport and your dumb app reserved a car for me in downtown Boston. Got to the airport and there was no car. No number to call to straighten it out. So I had to rent a car at the airport and paid double. Needless to say I was not happy. I will not be using Kayak again.

I got a FL tag car in Boston. It didn't have snow brush and ice scraper. Tires were bad too what caused minor issues on the road. Car was given with an error code for overdued oil change. No rubber floor mats either-Getting to snow tubing made the car floor wet and dirty the same day. recommendation: Assess cars from southern states if those can be used in the north states

Line to pick up took an hour. Staff was professional, courteous, and friendly. But if a fiasco with the car they’d assigned not being in the garage, but I was given another comparable car. Car smelled like cigarettes. Found a cigarette behind the headrest. Found a dead medium sized gross bug (roach?) in cup holder. Would have preferred more efficient check in. Perhaps automated components. Has happened before at other location in Cambridge. Aside from that, car was great and good value, and staff were awesome.

We were well taken care of after an initial hiccup of not knowing the dealer closed at 3:30 pm. We were forced to rent a car at full rate for the first night which was expensive. More communication about the closing time spills have been helpful. Also a phone number that reaches a person would be nice.

Daily rate and quality of the vehicle was good, but lots of hidden fees that were not explained at pick-up. If you need to use EZPass, Thrifty requires you to pay a daily rate for each day you have the car, even if only going through tolls 1 day.
