Mechanically the car was great. I have 2 issues I need to report . The first one is that the car had been smoked in . It had a strong smell of cigarettes. If the local rental office would have been open I would have returned it but they closed not long after I picks it up. The 2nd issue was the Budget location at RDU airport. The restroom was filthy and by that I mean there was toilet paper all over the floor and had been there for quite some time, the only door to the toilet area did not have a way to secure the door from the inside , there wasn’t any soap to wash my hands and to complete this the staff who I told about these issues gave me attitude. So in all my Budget experience has me thinking I will most likely look for another company when possible to rent from . Thank you for the chance to express my experience.

Everything was great until I received my receipt showing a late fee. I was told to drop off the keys in the drop slot if no one was there. The car was due at 6pm (right at closing). I arrived right at 6pm to find no one there so I dropped the keys in the drop slot as instructed. Despite this I still got a late fee. Thankfully the customer service rep quickly offered a refund on the late charge but it's still concerning that I was sent this to begin with and had to waste my time dealing with the erroneous charge. I don't trust Budget, but I'd probably still rent from them again, but with caution.
