My experience was disappointing. The car had many scratches, and for the price, I found it expensive. The radio didn’t even have Bluetooth, and although it had a USB port, it didn’t charge my phone or allow any connection. Since this was in Aruba, it is normal for some sand to get inside the car. The seats were delivered dry but with a bit of sand, yet they wanted to charge me $100 USD for cleaning. In the end, they reduced it to $60 USD, but I have never been charged for sand cleaning by other rental companies before. Additionally, the rear door seal was damaged, so the door did not close properly. I fixed it myself because it bothered me to see the door misaligned and have to slam it shut. On top of that, the car was misaligned, causing it to pull to the sides while driving, which affected comfort and safety. The car was a Nissan Versa 2020. Overall, I do not think the service or the vehicle quality justified the price.

Extremely dangerous experience – serious mechanical failure and negligence I rented a car from Avis / Unidas in Rio de Janeiro and this was one of the worst and most dangerous rental experiences I’ve ever had. The vehicle suffered a serious mechanical failure and completely shut down in the middle of traffic on a narrow road near a favela. I was traveling with my wife and my infant son in the car. The situation was extremely dangerous and required police intervention to manage traffic and prevent a potentially serious accident. We were stranded for a long time until a tow truck and a mechanic arrived. Most concerning of all, the company’s own mechanic stated that the battery installed in the vehicle was NOT the correct battery for that car, confirming that the vehicle was not properly maintained and was unsafe to be on the road. This was not bad luck — it was clear negligence. Despite the real safety risk to my family, the significant loss of time, and the stress caused by this incident, the company refused to offer any form of compensation. To make matters worse, we were then required to travel to the airport to obtain a replacement vehicle, as if the failure had been our responsibility. This goes beyond poor customer service — it reflects a serious failure to provide a safe, roadworthy vehicle and a complete disregard for customer safety. I strongly do not recommend this location, especially for families or anyone concerned about safety.
