Rented a car with them. Got about 6 hours before the back left tire was flat. Had the people come to change it and they said that that car should have never been rented and it was a disaster, waiting to happen. When the people came to change it, they tried to get the specific piece for that specific car out of the back and it was not there so they could not change the tire. I ended up having to wait a couple days until another tow truck came and loaded the car onto the back, then had to ride with them two hours to the nearest shop so that I could get a different car and drive two hours back. They refused to just send a new car to me, and I still ended up paying for more than half of my rental even though I only got to use the car two out of eight days.

Not expecting to be charged a "location surcharge" not mentioned in my Kayak booking. The booking was around 88$ (I recall) the location surcharge is 51£ (about 65USD) so the booking for the car is almost double. How can one rely on Kayak when making a booking?

Didn’t realize you needed a New Zealand gas card to purchase gas. We wished agents would have notified us of this as we rented our car.

While Payless advertise a 100% smoke-free fleet rental car had definitely been smoked in. I tried to clear the air every time I got in it losing a can of febreze but could never overcome the smoking stench. Additionally, the car had numerous dings and the transmission made noise whenever it was in gear. The car definitely had mechanical, cosmetic, and smoking odor problems.

Good experience, everything was handled efficiently and on time The shuttle was ready to pick up to and from airport. The car we got was very basic so at times it struggled to drive uphill but we made it.

The overall was experience was terrible. The price quoted for the rental was correct. They quoted me $16.88/ per day for insurance but charged me more than $70.00/ day. The contract is all in Spanish, so it is hard to determine what the charge is. I found out when I check my card statement. I immediately went to the office in Merida to resolve it but was told they (1) did not understand English well enough, and (2) they could not do anything about it. The car was high milage, the sides and rear of the car were scratched, the interior seating was badly stained and dirty. they said they had no better vehicle available. I will not do business with Payless ever again. I also question the value of using Kayak in the future. Note, I insure to two late model vehicles for about the same amount over 6 month period then they charged for 15 days. This should be a crime.

I have rented from Sixt in the US before and had a good opinion of them. The price was good and the drop off instructions were handy and acurate. This is the first time I've rented from them in Europe and there were a few things that tarnished their corporate image of them. First, they didn't have my desired car. I was upgraded to a compact SUV because compact car that I booked was unavailable -- a small car for the small streets of Spanish towns would have been better and I don't like higher rides. It was also hard to find the car in Seville lot and nobody from Sixt was around to help. I also felt pressured by the agent in Seville to get additional insurance that I didn't need. The drop off location in Grenada is in an underground parking lot that wasn't well lit.

Everything was good with the car. We had extra charges that were billed after we returned the car. They called our pre paid rental through kayak (pre paid token) apparently it was not including other fees. So be vary when it is advertised total price.

All went well according to our plan with pick up and drop off with friendly customer service, and I’m very pleased with the staffs.

When I made the rental online from Kayak, my receipt clearly stated that the total charges for the rental would be ~$600CAD and I had also purchased insurance through Allianz for an additional $75. When I went to pick up the rental I was charged an additional $506.00USD in other fees and more insurance (apparently the insurance that was rented through Kayak was not comprehensive as stated on the website.) I was informed that I would be reimbursed $200USD when the rental car was returned. To my dismay, when I returned the rental I was charged AGAIN an additonal $506USD plus another $100USD “cleaning fee”. Completely unsatisfied and I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute these repeat charges.
