Warning! Eschewing public transport in favour of a comfy taxi downtown might blow a hole in your holiday budget.

Moneycorp, a currency exchange company, has compiled this nifty table showing how much airport taxi fares vary internationally. The research details the relative cost for trips between major international airports and the city centres they serve.

Copenhagen – the Danish capital – is priciest, at almost £7 per mile. Geneva is in second place with a cost per mile of £6. Tokyo comes in third: A taxi ride to the centre of the city costs about £191.48, a cost per mile of £4.70. The massive cost of a taxi to Tokyo from Narita airport results largely from the 44-mile journey between them.

At the other end of the table, getting to Munich is cheapest at £2.20 per mile.
