Driving in Egypt is NOT easy for western tourists, but having a rental car was critical to having the best Egypt experience. Avis offered a great deal on unlimited miles and pick up was easy. Drop off was so clear, but after 10 days in Egypt, your expectations of order and process will be recalibrated. Considering that, drop off wasn’t bad. There were no clear instruction where to return, so a best guess had us parking pretty much anywhere then calling the Avis rep to meet you out front. Be sure to write down your Avis rep’s phone and contact info. We had a Vodaphone local SIM card to make and receive local calls. Available at the airport and all over Egypt for cheap.

Would have been nice to have a more streamlined drop off process. I ended up walking across the airport trying to figure it out. Compared to US car rental return, no quite as smooth. Compared to ANYTHING in Egypt, returning the car was one of the easier things to accomplish. Prepare to be flexible and creative.

They did not honer my first reservation. I made sure when they called me before I travel that I will be at 11:00 pm and gave them my flight number. When I came out of the arrival gate no one was at their booth. I called there number 3 times but no one answered. I had to leave by taxi at a high rate. I called from my hotel, explained the situation so they promised to keep my reservation to pick up the car at 1pm next day. When I went to the airport, I found they cancelled the reservation. Had to make another reservation at a high prices. It is really a bad situation. They were not a professional car rental. I will not go there again!!!

I had to pay $100.88 insurance that not mentioned at the website, I got withheld $325.00 from my bank account they said deposit and grantee if something happened to the car will get back to my bank account from 14 to 21 days! This too late!?

I have always trusted Kayak but this time disappointed me. The company refused to give me my car and refuse to refund my money. I was in Canada and nothing in terms and condition proofs that I need international driving licence. I reached to rentalcars who were rude and refused to help accusing me that was my fault not to read the terms but nothing in the terms mentioned that I need one . I tried to call the office in Egypt from Canada but they barely spoke any English and didn’t give me any details Don’t book anything that is related with Rentalcars

Hello there, the car they give it to me was having a sound under the hood. They told me this is the fan of AC don’t worry, the wheels rim of the car has a cover they tighted with zip-ties one of this rim get off many times so I took the rim cover out of the rim, they told me I hit the car rim but I didn’t, they charged me a $100 for nothing Thanks

They prepare a compact car for me, I did sign the contract, did car inspection with agent, when I asked for car registration card, it was not there. Thankful they upgraded me to SUV car. They charged me $ 0.3 for extra kilometer although it showed $ 0.25 when I did the reservation.

The rental company is not in the airport. It is off site and you have to call someone to come and pick you up. They also wanted to take $5000 deposit on the Credit Card. I showed them the rules on priceline saying that tge max is €2000 then they put a hold for that amount. The car was dirty and scratched in several places, with one hopcap missing. Also I reserved unlimited milage and they tried to tell me it is limited. Over all bad experience. I would not rent with them again.
