My reservation was for a "dealer's choice" vehicle, which at other rental agencies means compact or better. What they gave me was a tiny Chevy which could only hold one suitcase in the back and one on the back seat. But the problem with this car was that the driver's seat could not be adjusted up far enough for me to see over the dash. When I returned to the counter I was told that "dealer's choice" for Hertz means economy size only, and that was the only economy car left. He offered to put me into a "compact" size vehicle, but for more money. Since it was unsafe for me to drive the original vehicle I had no choice but to pay the extra money. I feel like I was totally screwed over and would probably never rent from Hertz again.

The car we picked up was three years old and had over 40k on it. We had to change cars during our rental because the original car had issues (tire pressure alert wouldn't turn off, bad windshield wipers, etc.). Obviously, the car wasn't maintained properly!

It was the worst experience I have ever had with renting a car. I did not request an electric vehicle but ended up with one without any instructions on how electric vehicles work or how to recharge if you have to. The care was not charged all the way so it could not even make it to my destination which was only 3 1/2 hour trip. It took me a total of 9 hours to get home due to having to find a charging station and having to sit for a couple hours in the blazing Sun while it charge only enough to make it home!!!! Do not rent an electric car if you have never used one in the past. It was an absolute terrible experience 😢😢😢 and I lost out on a paying job since it took me 5.5 extra wasted hours of my time.
