I reserved the car for noon pick up, which went through. I got there to pick up my car, and the place closed at noon. There was no indication that it closed at noon when the reservation was made—which made for a difficult situation since I had flown in from out of state. It took over an hour and a half on the phone to solve the issue, and was transferred or redirected to non-working numbers! When I got to speak to the individual who handled the situation, they were terrific. They were also able to check and see that the door of the rental location was locked at 12:01. My question is, why would they allow a rental to be reserved for noon pick up if that is when they close, and why did they not call the renter to see if they were still in need of the vehicle. I worked for a Hertz competitor for many years, and we tracked flight arrival times of contacted clients if they were late so we could make arrangements for them or wait for their arrival! A stressful situation when traveling due to an elderly father's health!
