After 2 calls to the Cancun Airport Budget office being advised I could decline insurance with my Chase card coverage and a $2k deposit on my credit card. They wanted $700 I said NO, then $500? I said NO my husband stepped in he negotiated it to $365. What! It was a SCAM by SCAMMERS

I never got a car. I got a "courtesy" call to say my rental I had reserved for over two weeks in advance was not available the day before I left. And that they weren't responsible for my refund

Extremely rude staff. Attempted to rent me a wrecked vehicle and when I denied it said it would be a few hours until another of the same class was available. Check in process no one was there. An AVIS employee said to just leave the keys in the car. No inspection, etc. I travel for a living and this is about my 3rd poor experience with Payless. I will pay more money for better service, shorter lines, and kinder staff. Will not be using this company again

The assistants at the counter left early, so we were without a car upon arrival. We had to take a taxi to the house, then arrange a 2nd ride the next day to go back to a Payless location. The assistant at that location refused to give any sort of refund or credit for our missed day or our taxi fare. So we paid for the first day, despite being screwed out of the car for that day, and $50 for a taxi ride. Not professional at all, would NEVER recommend or use this company again.

I was scammed by Avis. They ran my drivers liscense and said they could not rent to me. Enterprise and Hertz had no trouble. Very inconvenient, do not trust Kayak, will not use Avis again.

When I arrived at the Avis rental car office there were no cars available. I waited an hour and a half before Avis could find another car at different location. And when i arrived at the other location the car I received was a step down in size. Not a pleasant experience.

First I was overcharged apparently one extra hour cost is $197 which was incorrect and I got that removed. So many fees and add on charges my bill was then $486 which was still over $200 more than quoted. Bad deal from you!!

Told us to go to a wrong enterprise. When we got the other one, they didn't have a car for us stating that "their internet services and in store service don't keep up to date. It took 1.5 hours to get a car.

The branch manager was too aggressive, she claimed falsehoods that reservation is canceled, while when I go to another branch it was there and I got the car after paying 27$ to upper 😡

Rented car one way. When returned to a different city out of state, the return process was cumbersome. When I tried to turn in car, the destination was not able to provide a final receipt, and I was told that I needed to call back to the originating city location to close my file and get a clear receipt. Evidently all Budget locations don’t share same electronic rental paperwork systems nationwide.

Made a reservation back in early March 2021 for a Chevy Suburban or equivalent for a road trip I was going to take with my family. Went to pick up my rental 4 months later in July 2021 and they try to give me a Lincoln Navigator. The Navigator may sit the same amount of people but it definitely does not have the storage space of a Suburban/Expedition/Yukon XL. This wasn't going to work for my family as I think the Navigator has less storage capacity than my Buick Enclave. Unfortunately, they didn't have any Expeditions available in the entire KC Metro area. Very upsetting to make a reservation 4 months in advance and then not get what you reserved! They could have called or talked to me at any point during the week that they wouldn't have something instead of me having to make last minute changes for my family's road trip.
