Toyota car rentals in Fairbanks

Beware the insurance scam. Declined the coverage on kayak and they still added it back in at the rental counter. Had to fight with Thrifty to remove it.

My experience with Thrifty and Kayak was beyond disappointing. I booked a one way trip with a minivan from the Orlando airport as our family’s flight was canceled. After waiting in a long line, the agent (who refused to provide his name) told us that there were no more minivans available and that they only had four seat sedans. I reiterated that we booked a minivan because there were six members of our family. He said we could probably seat five in the sedan, but then became very rude and borderline hostile when I said that wouldn’t be possible because there were six of us. I asked if he could tell me the cost of a second vehicle and he said he couldn’t. Additionally, prior to arriving at the airport a family member had called both Kayak and Thrifty to confirm we’d be able to modify the drop off location from Boston to the Savannah airport and was told that was possible at the rental counter. When I asked the man at the rental counter he said that was not possible and that I had to modify this with Kayak. I, as well as family members tried calling Kayak multiple times from the counter and the calls were either dropped or we were told to use the website. When we went to the Kayak website to modify the drop off location, we all kept getting errors saying the reservation couldn’t be found. Needless to say, the experience was incredibly stressful, unfriendly, and inoperative for our family’s needs. I am still working on receiving a refund for the money I was charged for insuring the car I never rented. Our family spent nearly $1000 on an Uber to drive the 4 hours we needed the car rental for - a cost that should be reimbursed by Kayak. What an incredibly unacceptable experience trying to use Thrifty through Kayak - a family of six (including children) were left stranded with no options for a resolution.

Everything went fine. Great car and a good price. The return was only made difficult due to roadworks around the car yard.

The staff at Fairbanks AK treated us very good and were excellent to deal with. Would lease a vehicle through National anytime. Thanks

Wish your website had it listed if the vehicles have 4wd i been having to rent trucks so I know for sure i have 4wd. Please list it o ur website! The ladies behind the counter have excellent customer service makes me want to rent from them everytime. Couldve been better also is more 4wd & some loyality program!

Enterprise at Fairbanks Airport is awesome. They always have newer/clean vehicles and the customer service is second to none. I always receive a personalized e-mail from the manager the day after pickup checking on my satisfaction with the vehicle and the customer service I received at vehicle checkout. Kudos to a well run organization.

We didn’t get the vehicle from Avis in Fairbanks. We booked online and went in and then were told they didn’t have the suv we booked available for us even though it showed available still online. They didn’t have anything available we were told although several things were still showing available online. The only thing we were offered was a huge van. The man was very rude at Avis. We declined, our rental was canceled, we were not charged anything and we went to Budget where they were very helpful and we did get the suv we needed.

Didn't get the car that was originally book.. staff wasn't nice

Had no trouble picking up the rental or returning it. Loved the vehicle. Only thing better would have been if I had been explained about plugging in the vehicle during the cold. Had no experience and no idea what the cord in the back was far

Waited forn15 minutes at the counter for someone to arrive and it was during regular business hours. Vehicle smelled so strongly of cigarettes and marijuana that I had to drive with all 4 windows down to keep from getting a headache. The last straw was that the vehicle had not been fueled up and topped off after the last rental. Won’t be renting from them again.

Drop off and return is confusing. Could use more directional signage.

Honestly the only complaint I have is the tires. I live here in Alaska and the tires was not made for winter here.
