Toyota car rentals in Durham

I had given flight number and my car was reserved at the wrong airport. I called Alamo and they told me I was out of luck. So I got gauged by Avis

Easy to Order but the 1/2 hr wait for counter staff to work without internet was a pain. Staff were doing their best at the time. Just lucky it was a sunday

I was pleased with everything except that they marked off the on me the same minute windshield ding that was noted in the previous damages list when I picked up the car, presumably because I had added insurance, so they can file another claim. Possibly just an error, but judging from the previous reviews it seems suspicious.

I was very pleased with the unexpected SIGNIFICANT upgrade -- I originally had booked a convertible, expecting just a Mustang convertible, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I arrived at the counter and was upgraded to a relatively brand new BMW Z4 at the same rate! Even better, with the original reservation, I would have had to return the car the next day by 7:30PM to the Orlando Airport and be charged two days' rate (my pick up was at 5PM Saturday, needing to return by 7:30PM Sunday and otherwise see a MASSIVE rate hike from ~$150 to ~$600). However, because of the change in vehicles, I could return it on Monday by 5PM for the original rate of ~$150 at the hotel I was staying in, saving me a LOT of hassle. I imagine Sixt may have lost some money with my reservation, but a great experience from start to finish.for me!

Pre-Paid Toll Road Fee is an intentional rip off >>The only thing I was unhappy about with the Avis of Durham experience is that the Avis agents in this location successfully sold us on the $11.99/day fee to cover tolls that we'd encounter on our drive north to Philadelphia. They said that the alternative was to accumulate video-license-capture toll obligations that would be charged to our credit card as they came in - who knows when, how accurately, and how many $4/occurrence fees from Avis we would end up accumulating. It turned out that there were almost no toll roads between Durham, NC and Philadelphia, unless one elects to use the very overpriced express lanes, which I'm guessing that this prepaid toll service would not even have covered as these are optional "luxury" roadways. We ended up looking for tolls to pay, just to get some value from our $47.96 fee. With some effort, we found one $1.40 toll that, IF this prepaid toll paying system even works (I expect we'll be billed by the video system as well), may have been covered by our $47.96 expenditure.

Didn’t have to wait at all, but the car could have been clean on the outside.

Car was dirty and smelled like smoke. I changed to roundtrip but rate charged was still one-way.

They need more people

The selection was limited, the car wasn't clean, and the check-out wasn't seamless.

Outrageous to offer a 6 pm rental when the place closes at 6 pm…

I booked a car on a website took an Uber and went to the location only to be told there was no car available. I called another Enterprise location reserved another car which they assured me was available only to receive a call ten minutes later saying there was no car. Quite disgusting big corporation nonsense.

They refused to rent to me, purely by prejudice
