POPULAR STATION | Lisbon Cais do Sodré |
POPULAR TRAIN COMPANY | Comboios de Portugal |
The Caminhos de Ferro do Rossio Station is one of the main stations operating trains to Lisbon, especially from the coastal town of Sintra. This station happens to be located in the center of Lisbon. Passengers arriving with Lisbon train tickets can step out of the station and be right at the central Rossio Plaza. This plaza is known as a lively spot lined with busy cafés. To get to other parts of the city center of Lisbon from the Caminhos de Ferro do Rossio station, you can hop on a metro line that has a connecting stop right next to the Rossio station. For instance, if you take either the blue metro line or the number 1 bus route, you can be in the famous Praça do Comercio in just a few minutes. A single public transportation ride is fairly cheap.
The Estação do Oriente station operates both national and international trains to Lisbon. This station is one of the main ones in the city, however, it is also the farthest one from the city center. Lisbon trains arriving at Estação do Oriente station stop near both the water and the Lisbon Airport, northeast of the city center. The Oriente station is not only a hub for train lines but it also has an intercity and international bus station, as well as local bus stops and a connection to the red metro line. Therefore, it’s a somewhat direct trip into the city center from this station. You can hop on either the 728 or 782 bus routes to go to the Praça do Comercio in a short amount of time, or take the pink and green metro lines to get to the Bairro Alto neighborhood in the city center.
