It is a beautiful hotel with a lot of history, very well kept.
Parking, construction
The Stanley is very stately from afar and the history of F.O Stanley is very interesting. We enjoyed it's potential as a true historical landmark.
The Stanley is very disheveled. Not due to age but due to lack of care. Our room, particularly our bathroom, was inexcusably unclean. The room was very small, which we expected due to it's age however you would expect a small space to be easy to maintain. The price point is absurd for what they presented. Dinner in the cascade room.
Room had terrible mattress & pillows, mold in the bathroom, outlet in bathroom broken & missing part of cover plate, dresser had missing knobs, no easy access to car with luggage, no coffee in lobby nor any kind of continental breakfast offering, Corner lamp on/off switch broken. No one with activities offerings available in lobby, dirty dishes/glasses scattered about lobby and outdoors.
I ve always wanted to stay there and it was amazing. The food, the staff, and the history of the hotel were amazing!

Rooms were small, cluttered with wires hanging loose down the wall. Paper cups wrapped in plastic gave a motel 6 vibe. Bugs around the window in the bathroom with strands of human hair caught in window latch.

Only a bed in room and way too expensive for a room the size of small closet and being back in a small secluded corner like they were trying to hide us. No balcony, no chair, nothing

The history of the hotel is amazing and the ghost tour was fun! It was also incredible to pull up and see an entire herd of elk grazing on the property!
The room was comfortable but rather small (but it is a historic hotel) and there is construction around the property with dirt and cranes.
Great historical property, ghost tour was awesome, and dinner in the chophouse was great. Incredible views.
Elevator wasn't working and we were on the third floor. Individual Room AC unit wasn't great, and no fridge was a bummer. Lots of construction going on and very loud first thing in the morning.
The overall facilities have a unique charm and the location in Estes Park Colorado is beautiful.
We’ve stayed at the Stanley hotel a number of times over the last 30+ years (first time for our honeymoon in 1990). We were disappointed and underwhelmed this time with a postage stamp sized room that was over $400 a night.
