The staff is fantastic -- helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved breakfast on the terrace, and the room was clean, comfortable, modern and quiet (the air conditioning was also quiet and worked well). It's located on a quiet little street up near St. George's castle; it was fun to be in the older part of the city.
Magnificent terrace and very nice and helpful staff. Can highly recommend it.
Solar dos Mouros is wonderfully located near São Jorge Castle, with convenient parking nearby. The hotel is commercial but welcoming, and we appreciated the drink on arrival. The room was huge, luxurious, and beautiful, with panoramic views. It included a bath and shower (though the shower tap didn’t work well) and a very large bed—about twice the size of a standard double. There was also fruit an...
There is no elevator. The room was very hot on arrival, and it would have been nice if the AC had been turned on beforehand; the fruit and Porto wine were also very warm.Read more
We really loved the location —- so close to the Castelo and the Baixa neighborhood. The staff was always helpful (especially Francois and Momo) even when we showed up at six in the morning. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of fruits, bread and meats, and the view of the Tagus was a nice way to start the day.
This place was amazing. The staff, especially the gentleman on reception, were absolutely fantastic. There is nothing to dislike. The food was amazing and the veiw is absolutely gorgeous. The room we had had a view of the castle, and the river it was stunning 😍 staff couldn't do enough for you
Nothing everything was amazing from the stay to the food.
A beautiful hotel with amazing views from the room! Also a very good breakfast.
No elevator
We knew this was our neighborhood in Lisbon, but the Solar dos Mouros now gives us a home every time we visit the city. Outstanding service - from the driver to the concierge - and location. Absolutely perfect for us. We will return, and we will let everyone else know.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast on the terrace was lovely.
The staff at this hotel made you feel like you've returned to family. It's a smaller hotel and everyone knew our names, room number, preferences, etc. by the end of our stay. Absolutely impeccable service. Rooms are also large -- feel like European flats with their modern styling and spaciousness. Very clean, centrally located and fabulous food at the restaurant and on the patio deck (which had a ...
Only consideration is that this hotel is a renovated historic building and does not have an elevator. Staff were incredible lugging luggage up and down the stairs, but for anyone with mobility challenges, it would be difficult to navigate.Read more
Staff is very friendly, rooms are quite nice. The hotel is not that big and located at a nice spot. It has two restaurants/bars: one of the hotel itself and another one that I believe rents their floor. It's a quiet place: most of the noise comes from cleaning the streets and suppliers in the morning. There is a popular bakery next door. Largo Sta. Luzia - one of the most popular spots for picture...
The one thing that continues to strike me in PT - and I have been in Lisbon many times for work as well, next to leisure - is the paperwork. The city tax needs to paid in cash, you don't get an invoice. If you ask for the invoice, it takes quite some time and the one we got was incorrect and unclear. But all in all a nice and friendly place.Read more
