I loved all the soft comfort--even the elevator has a bench! Two fireplaces down stairs with lots of cozy couches and chairs. There is always tea and coffee on hand and a little tea and sherry get together 4-6. It was our anniversary and we were gifted a bottle of prosecco and a little box of chocolates. Sweet touches. Parking was convenient and the staff really kind and helpful. It's obviously a ...
Nothing really. It was a lovely stay.Read more
The staff do no care about the customers.
When you are treated like you do not matter, you remember it.
The antiques and general old world vibe.
The toilet flush was ridiculously loud
Thermostat worked great in rooms. Courtyard area relaxing and peaceful. Comfortable beds, updated modern bathrooms, high water pressure in shower, provided soap, lotion, shampoo. Let us keep luggage behind check-in counter before and after checkout. Let us keep our vehicle parked in the hotel parking after we checked out.
Old smell in lobby area, space in door frame in men’s restroom in main floor when locked where you can see outside.
Rooms are old and pretty pretty basic but I wanted to change from modern hotels to a new experience … the most thing I love about the hotel is the staff they are just amazing and helpful and cheerful And no ghosts especially in the famous room 410 … sorry ghost hunters 😁
Breakfast needs to have more options
Old school and charming. Nice location.
The quirkyness of the hotel and the room was quite comfortable. Also, the extra touch of cookies and sherry at the end of the day is nice.
The coffee from the machine was terrible. We ended up going out for breakfast most mornings due to the awful coffee
Quirky atmosphere with sherry and cookies in the afternoon and a decent breakfast offering in the morning. Our room had a working fireplace that we got a duraflame log per night to use and it made it so very cozy. Staff was kind and courteous. We had an excellent time. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place in SF
I loved that it was old Victorian. Tea, sherry and cookies was nice.
,but it was a bit shabby and the furniture could have been cleaned/repaired.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is always someone in the front to unlock the front door since it remains lock most of the time for security reasons. The breakfast was nice and the breakfast staff was very attentive. The room and hotel overall has a great vintage Victorian decor. The location was very convenient near Japantown and very safe and quiet. Next time we come back to San Fr...
