hot room, no fan, cramped conditions, noisy door, linen not put for you, terrible bathrooms 1 bathrooms in a floor of over 20 rooms, the list goes on
Location was good, staff lovely.
Just a bit hot in the rooms.
The location is the great, lots of good quality neighbourhoods cafes in the area Sophia pizza, Fig and Olive, Sandwhich Street Kitchen, as well as Bloomsbury shopping court with Waitrose supermarket and chemists, cafe and juice bars, the burger place just round the corner is really good but the fries aren’t. Just off Tavistock road you can get the 68 bus that goes to Waterloo / riverside embankmen...
The lack of air con, or any ability or adjust temperature in the room, left us trying to book elsewhere in the middle of the night, and with crying children as the heat was unbearable in the room, 3 nights of terrible broken sleep not what you need for London and just out of touch with the situation they have, how people coped in a shared room I don’t know from reading reviews they haven’t. The location and value for money was exceptional. The staff were super friendly and helpful and water was provided for you to refill bottles due to the heat. The photobooth was a lovely thing to have and capture the memory of being there with.
We stayed during a heatwave, none of the rooms were equipped for this. We were on the 5th floor with 1 small measley fan that did nothing ti help cool the room down. The whole of the 5th floor communal areas were just as hot, the only relief being the bathroom later at night. It was so hot that when getting the lift from the fairly cool and breathable lobby to the 5th floor you were hit in the face...Read more
Great location - close to Euston, Kings Cross and there's lots to do in that area. A nice general social vie at the hostel. The staff were great - they accommodated my room requests and also helped me find a quiet place to take interviews.
My second room was very cramped and hot. All of us in there were sweating all night. The windows didn't open much and the fans didn't do much either. It attracts LOTS of young school groups so expect that if you are older.
Ligation
No windows in the bathroom area making it steaming in there!!
Convenient location
Had so many issues on this trip. Firstly, as a young female I was put in a room with two middle aged men - one of whom actually asked me to move rooms because they didn’t even feel comfortable never mind me! Secondly, after I’d changed rooms I had a issue in which someone else decided to make my bed and leave their stuff on it which I discovered at 11pm to which the staff at the front desk where v...Read more

Generator London has always taken a special place in me. It’s first hostel I stayed, and it opened my mind, that trips can make different with making new friends, polishing English and many more fringe benefits of staying in hostels. With this spirit, I traveled many nations and stayed numerous hostels. Of course, I had very satisfied journeys with new friends and locals. In mid of 10 years gradua...
So I feel there are a couple of things Generator London should be blamed for, and that can be leading causes to its low rating from like 8.8 back in the past. First, nurturing a courteous environment like in Japan, Korea, when check-in there, if new or late check-ins? the staff will walk you through a list of house rules and no noise after 11pm sign is almost everywhere in sleeping areas. Even sta...Read more
