Pickup/drop off is super easy, quick, and right at the airport. We know this because we had to return one rental car half way through the trip due to the electrical system going haywire. We were experts by the time we returned the second car, which was having transmission problems. Not sure if it’s a Hertz thing or a STX thing, but the cars are seriously abused.

I coordinate to pickup the car near the seadock vs the airport, since I was that day dropping off a different rental at Centerline, also near the seadock. Employee picked me up promptly after my call letting them know I was at Centerline, and everything else went smoothly.

Nothing.

Everything. There was no pickup from the airport. Had to pay $25 in transport fees to get to the rental location. Upon renting the vehicle it had not been cleaned. There where roaches in the vehicle. Tried contacting them for a replacement vehicle to no avail. Was definitely not worth the money. Will be renting from another reputable agency going forward.

Check in process was very slow. We spent around 30 minutes in line behind 3 people, and over 20 minutes to check out, for a prepaid reservation. The car itself was in poor condition. Multiple dents, broken gas cap cover, broken hatch release lever, and the front collision sensor didn’t work, which would send an alert every time while driving down the road. I’m assuming the malfunction was due to front end damage the car sustained in a collision prior to my rental that they did not repair.

Process was quickly and easy. Gas is cheaper in land than paying for there gas. Gas was $4.39 and they were charging $6.99. But everything was pretty much good and seaming-less. I would definitely use them again.

Features of the Toyota SUV we rented were very confusing. The trunk was impossible to lock when holding the key fob. We had no idea that as long as you hold the fob, the trunk opens. Why this is is a complete mystery and a huge shortcoming. When I lock the car, that should be it until I unlock it, regardless of where the key fob happens to be. The other major problem was that I couldn't lock the brights. I had to hold the lever to the left of the steering column if I wanted the brights on all the time. No one at Budget knew why this was happening. It seems to me that it is Budget's responsibility to explain every important feature of their cars to us before we leave the lot - unless we are familiar with the car, of course. We had to return the car to Budget at the airport to find out about the trunk locking issue. No one was able to explain the problem over the phone. This caused us a huge waste of time. Otherwise, the car was comfortable and performed well.
