Parking & rental car pickup/drop-off at STT airport is transitioning so quite the mess now. On the positive side, I unknowingly left my debit card in the rental car after returning it. Debbie hunted me down to inform me and she was kind enough to shred my card as I dealt with my bank. Very kind. On day 3 of 12 day rental, low tire pressure was displayed on dashboard. Called Budget and was told to bring in the car and “we’ll fix it”’. Despite late hour on Sunday, it was fixed in 30 minutes. Very kind again.

Price was reasonable, they didn’t have the car size we requested, upgraded to a much larger vehicle which is not a great deal on an island with very narrow streets hard to find parking and expensive gas. The vehicle was an older model which was well cleaned but did have several exterior bruises which were accounted for, no problem there. The location when returning the car was a bit tricky to find. The check in process was a bit long but the return was quick.

The woman working when we brought the car back was delightful and very nice. The two drivers to and from the airport were nice as well. It was only a 7 minute ride from the airport to the rental agency. The lady that was working when we originally rented the car seemed to hate her job. I couldn’t hear her at all, and she seemed to generally be miserable. The gas tank was maybe 2/3 to 3/4 full upon check out. The radio/stereo would not turn on at all, and the brakes were in need of changing as well. The checkin day truly saved this review from being a zero star review.

The process was fast and efficient. One thing I was unaware, is this particular rental car is off-site. There is a shuttle that took us over and it was quick and efficient. The other thing to be aware of: regardless of your insurance, they will put a $500 hold on your card in case there are any damages. We got our deposit returned, but the young woman helping us also recommended that we take a video of the car when we were picking it up so that we could prove any prior damage was already there. Overall, highly recommend - we had a great experience and the staff was friendly and helpful and the car was clean and ready to go.

Our first rental, a Ford Fiesta, broke down on us two days in. It was very easy to get a tow that night and a taxi back to our residence, but we had to taxi to pick up the new rental the next morning as their shuttles didn't run to the overlook. This was very smooth, and our replacement vehicle was an upgrade. A minor hiccup, but otherwise a great experience with no other issues! Great customer service - planning to call today and hopefully be reimbursed for the cab fare we had to spend.
