The booking didn't make clear that there was no Insurance at all with the car hire so costs nearly as much to insure for the two days as to hire the car. The lady on the desk couldn't have been more helpful.

The handover was quick and easy and appreciated the phone call when i arrived home to inform me that the car was returned in good condition and my deposit will be returned straight away

Upgraded from a compact petrol estate to a Tesla Model Y on arrival. Which was great considering the price I paid. I already have an EV so I was more than happy to have it for a fortnight as the range is excellent (500km). Although it wasn’t so easy to find superchargers where I was staying in rural France. Not so great was the €21500 excess I was informed about because the online site I’d used to book with is American and not based in UK or Europe. I’d not been aware that booking via a US site results in a lack of third party insurance during the booking process. I’d even taken out my own excess insurance. Fortunately I didn’t have any incidents in the car and my kids loved it! Retuning the car, there was no Hertz representative present at 13:30 in the afternoon. Another rental rep from another company said it was ok to pop it through the returns letter box on the side of the building. Which felt a bit wrong as it’s a flimsy plastic card in a cardboard wallet for this car. But had a returns assessment email later that afternoon and all good. So overall a good experience.

Loved everything. Hated that there was no airport drop off although online it looked as if this might be possible. Want to see Avis at the airport.

The car was scratched and dented, which I can accept but the seats inside were dreadfully stained which I find unacceptable. We had to sit on dirty stained upholstery for the duration of the hire. All upholstery can be cleaned, surely, before use. I complained to Europcar UK on my return and sent photos and whilst they accepted that it fell below their usual standards, all they offered was an upgrade voucher for a car hire in France when I won’t be travelling there again! Very poor customer service. I won’t be using them again. The lady in the Limoges office was, however, helpful and friendly.
