The car smelled awful - clearly used long term by a smoker. The key fob was smashed so hard that the "lock" button didn't work and I had to lock from the car door on my way out. I was the last customer before closing so I wasn't able to tell the counter. Service at both drop-off and pick-up locations was good.

I would have appreciated someone to mark the dents on the car/cigarette smoke in the cabin (instead, I was told to mark them myself, and tell the employee at the receiving Budget Rental facility at the end of my place (different return) that they could call the originating Budget for "verification" even though they refused to mark anything in an official record). I found the overall price paid to be higher than what I was charged. They also refused to accept my auto insurance as coverage, requiring me to take full liability if something happened to the car. Very frustrating. Would not recommend.

Drop-off location has been closed down for years but still showed up on reservation. Waited on hold over 30 min to talk to Hertz rep. Hertz rep on phone also said it was still open. When I arrived, the receptionist at the connected hotel said it had been shut down during pandemic and had never reopened. Had to drive to airport to complete return.

I ordered a 3hour rent juatto get from Sacramento airport to San Francisco airport. Then I realized tat I was supposed to droo it off at another SF location despite my specifixation of the two airports. Now Hertz wish to xharge me another 90usd for the fact I left it at the airport

No issues with the car itself. But, I was super surprised when the agent tried to pass off an additional 100 bucks as drop-off changes. Fortunately, I noticed while he was asking me to sign off. He did not relent until I actually showed the quote and said I had already agreed on the amount. Then he conveniently blamed it on the system and said it wasn't updated with the offer. In fact, he took credit for getting the waiver! Not done and is extremely unprofessional. Am sure they are passing on these additional charges to gullible customers. Something you need to seriously take up with the rental car firm - they cannot try and cheat customers.
