tried to give me an E-car i said i didn’t want 1. she charged me xtra. $15. per day. upgrade. poor. i tried to cal them 2 days in a row. before the rental day. no answer. poor. then charged me for gas. i made sure it was fuel. i drove 15 miles after i filled up. to the airport. really. never again. she said i should of read the fine print. really. not happy

I’m not sure if it is standard policy, but I went up to the desk and asked what rate they could give me with AAA and I said kayak was quoting $49. The woman behind the desk said it would be $130 or something. She said I could book through kayak and they would honor it. So, I went through all of it for her to then say, they didn’t have any of that size car and it would be what she originally quoted. Granted I haven’t rented a car in a few years, but I thought they would upgrade you at no cost if they ran out of the type of car you requested. She said because she had quoted me first they couldn’t do that. (Even though I told her the price on kayak before she gave me the quote.) I ended up canceling and going with Budget, but I made sure to book through kayak first and didn’t have any issues with them.

The car had damage that wasn’t chronicled at the rental counter - had to go back in . Also- the rental counter was very difficult to find due to poor signage. Also, the phone charging port didn’t work which was particularly annoying for me since my old phone was dying when I picked the car up.
Not being charged extra fuxking fees at the end of my rental. Booked online for 2 weeks and my total had been like 300 something. That was before the fees for being 24yrs old (what a fuxking scam that is as well). Thought my car was going to be fixed sooner so I shortened it to a week, but then had to call and extend it back to 2 weeks. Was told over the phone it was coming to 500 & change then, which was the total actually including my age fee, but there was no upcharge for extending it. Then I got there to drop it off and it was 800 DOLLARS. They had a $45 fee on there for NO REASON that they then took off, but the math was still not mathing. Also a $10 upcharge for in fact extending. In the end they had upcharged me a whole $200 on top of the extra $200 bs I already had to pay for my being apparently not a grown adult yet. If you're under 25, do not book here. Garbage.

Kayak LIED!! YOU PRESENTED RENTAL INSURANCE THAT WAS NOT FROM BUDGET!! I DID NOT GET A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM KAYAK OR ALLIANZ AND THAT IS UNNACCETABLE!! I HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH THE COVERAGE WAS FOR OR ANYTHING!!! THE INSURANCE OFFERED SHOULD BE FROM BUDGET! SHAME ON U FOR SCAMMING PPL!!

Don’t rent from Budget. Got a cheap deal before the price rise. Called me the night before and told me that it was a local rental and could only take it so far. It would cost me an extra $1000 to take it where I wanted to go. Never took the rental. Never in my life was I told I couldn’t go somewhere in a rental. Budget is a total ripoff. This is the one on Jonestown Rd. In Harrisburg PA

I was told the gas was on full at pickup and would need to return it full. However, after I left, I realized the tank was only a quarter full. I took a picture and they honored it when I returned. I actually had the tank full when I returned it and they gave me a credit for gas.

$300 deposit on top of the cost of the car rental if you use a debit card and it takes 7-14 days to come back on your card; and also the insurance you buy on kayak does t go toward additional insurance you may want to buy when you pick the car up.
So we picked up the car in the evening and it was dark. When we left in the morning for our trip. We noticed the car was so dirty. The outside look like it had been through a dirt road. The inside was not clean. But the biggest issue to us was the oil change was way overdue. We were concerned about even using it. We did leave a message. No one called us back. The van was thousands of miles past due on its oil change.

The woman at the Harrisburg location used a machine that wouldn’t accept my credit card. I called the credit card company to make sure the prob was not on my end and it wasn’t but she was ready to send me away, not that I would have gotten far without a car… I finally convinced her to try a different machine and of course it worked. I understand that she was stressed and working alone but honestly to think she would turn a customer away is astounding. She did not apologize when we realized finally it was her mistake.
