The pickup process for Dollar is broken. They make reservations without having the cars to fill them. Every other company had no line, while Dollar had 15 people in line because they had no cars to rent. We waited an hour for a car to “be cleaned” and given to us. The employee was unapologetic and dressed in athletic shorts and a gray T-shirt while giving the impression that he didn’t care. Meanwhile, I returned the car 18 hours ago and I still haven’t seen a turn in receipt in my email. Pay the extra money and rent from someone else.

I reserved weeks ahead of time, but when I got there, thu said that they didn't have a car. They explained that they book many more reservations than they actually have cars for. They didn't seem to care about that policy negatively affecting travelers. I waited for two hours, and was eventually able to get a car. Th clerk wasn't apologetic in the slightest.

Dollar refused to rent me the car because I had a debit card. They had a policy document they showed me that clearly stated they would accept a debit card if the card carried a Visa or MC logo (it does), and I could provide proof of a return flight (I showed them my ticket). They still refused saying that is not what their policy means. I missed my return flight and had to purchase a hotel stay and new airline ticket because of Dollar employees at Syracuse

Dollar had over rented their cars, so we had to wait 1/2 hour despite having a reservation. Once we were given a car, it severely smelled of cigarette smoke. We went into trade the car, and the woman working the front desk was very gracious and accommodating. Without her, this would be a 1 star review. She turned it around for us by providing us with a small upgrade and prompt service. She is worth five stars to dollar; whomever was checking cars prior to them being rented needs to do a more thorough job.

Front desk worker was not pleasant to work with at all. Car smelt horribly of smoke so took two hours out of our day to exchange it. Was told I could exchange at any hertz location but 2 of the 3 locations listed on their website were no longer in business so we spent a good amount of time just driving to different locations. I will NOT be booking through Hertz again. I’ve had flawless experiences with car rentals other places in the past so I am certain Hertz is not worth it.

A lot could have been better. From not accomodating the price, to the deposit and being told that the deposit is on the website but "we needed to look". The teller we had wasn't mean, was trying to do his best, but the experience wasn't the best. And my best friend got her email until the next morning when the car was dropped off in the afternoon.

I requested an AIRPORT pick-up and drop-off. YOU arranged for my car at a distant location. VERY inconvenient! Was presented with a Nisson Pathfinder - a good vehicle for my purposes this trip. The tires were very worn but still "legal." After a week the driver's window malfunctioned [in the down position] and I wanted to take it to their service location. I liked the car.] Instead, they replaced it with an older Kia that was a small suv. Not the best fit for a tall person, etc. The Kia hadn't been cleaned [candy wrappers and 1 candy bar under the seat. However that wasn't the worst - it smelled of tobacco smoke. Every time I get in, I have to adjust to that.] Overall? I'm very disappointed in the way this rental has turned out.
