Nightlife in Paris

ENTERTAINTMENT

Where entertainment is concerned, the city’s strong points are movies and music. Paris is the cinema capital of Europe, showing more than 500 films every day. Check out the programme at www.allocine.com or buy the weekly guide Pariscope.

The music on offer in Paris encompasses excellent jazz, top-quality classical and avant-garde experimental, international rock. Just as you can find a lot of African, Caribbean and Algerian music. Plus, of course, the traditional French chansons.

To view the concert programme, buy Pariscope or book your tickets at the FNAC mega store
www.fnac.com

For opera-lovers, Paris is great, as the opera gets more than half of the annual State budget for music. The modern Bastille Opera has many enemies because of its architecture, but most people agree that the acoustics are among the best in the world.

- At this internet site you’ll also find the Ballet programme from the old Opera Garnier, which today is almost 100 percent dedicated to the dance.
