Sightseeing in Copenhagen

The island Christianshavn is, with its canals and antique half-timbered houses, Copenhagen's most picturesque neighbourhood. It was established in the early 17th century by the Danish King Christian the 4th, who was inspired by a visit to Amsterdam. The large baroque church, Our Saviour's Church, (Vor Frelser Kirke), with its characteristic twisted spire is also located in Christianshavn. A visit to the top of the tower guarantees spectacular views of the entire city.
