Copenhagen’s approximately 100 large hotels offer a combined capacity
of 13,000 rooms and 26,000 beds, with even more under construction. In
addition, a number of small hotels offer accommodations with fewer than
40 rooms. Even in the high season (June-September) it is often possible
to get a room as only between 75% and 85% are occupied. With an average
price of 110 euro for a room, however, Copenhagen is not the cheapest
place to spend a night. Prices have been falling recently though, as
competition between hotels grows due to the increasing supply of rooms
and a decreasing demand.
Hostels are a cheaper alternative and Copenhagen can boast of having Europe’s biggest design-hostel located close the Town Hall Square and the Harbour Baths.
