We didn't get the model when booking, most importantly it has a defective front passenger window, it broke a few days after picking up the car, just by opening the door. So we drove back to Las Vegas, after a 4-hour trip. They wouldn't give us compensation for the gas or our time to return their defective car. Plus, nobody was "responsible", they kept telling us to call the hotline to address our concern, which when called kept telling us to address it with the office. I would definitely not book again with hertz nor recommend it, quite the contrary...

I had planned to book a car out of the Las Vegas airport. Due to my own error, I had actually booked one on Sahara dr. I was told this upon arriving at the rental desk at the airport. I recognize this was my own mistake. However, the employee directed me to go to the location on Sahara. I took an Uber and upon arrival learned there were 2 locations on Sahara and I was at the wrong one. The employee was helpful is getting our reservation moved over to this location we were at. We did agree to return the car to the same location and planned to uber to the airport from there. Our return time was 12:00pm. We arrived at 12:15pm to find out the location had closed at noon and would not be open again until Monday. There was no key drop off at the location. I asked someone from the sales side if I could return the key to them. She was very rude. As I was walking out the door she explained that she could hold the keys as a courtesy but we would still be charged for the rental until the location reopened on Monday. It was incredibly frustrating, that this had not been explained to us when we agreed to return the car at the location on noon on a Saturday. We ended up returning the car to the airport location and took the fee of returning to a different location as that was the cheaper option. It was clear this was a common issue as we ran into others having the exact same problem. If this is a common issue, the employees should be more cognizant about communicated these details. Beyond this, our car was just ok. The car itself seems pretty clean but the transmission did not work well and we were constantly struggling to meet the speed limit on the highway.

Didn't really like anything. Our car wasn't ready when we went to pick it up. Had to wait for employee to sweep car out. Then manager refused to have car washed. We were handed a free car wash coupon to get car washed if we wanted. We did. The inside of the windshield was so dirty we could not see out. We had to clean that ourselves. Hertz even offered us an electric car when they knew we were driving to LA across Death Valley. The brakes on our first car were very noisy and worn. When we got to Bakersfield, CA, we swapped cars. The folks at Bakersfield were a 5+. They didn't know we were coming and had a car ready in minutes. The service in Bakersfield was excellent. When I mentioned the dirty windshield in our first car, the Bakersfield folks had it clean on the second car. Las Vegas Hertz, absolutely terrible. Bakersfield Hertz, OUTSTANDING.

Check in was like going through a timeshare sales pitch, attendant didn’t know her cars and her prices for the “deals” she was offering I don’t think she knew what they were she was making stuff up. She originally said we will get a Jeep Compass but offered us “for $20 instead of $60 today ONLY we could upgrade to a Jeep Cherokee” we declined on the first offer and the ones following it and were then handed a Hyundai that couldn’t even fit our luggage which is why we picked an SUV in the first place. After arguing we were told we are getting a Jeep compass, the agent who was giving out keys said we would need to pay another $100 a day for the upgrade to a compass, real hagglers. Eventually they got tired of my husband’s arguing they let us take the compass. The car was very uncomfortable but that isn’t the agency’s fault and the car was clean. Upon return the attendant was super quick which was nice, but a bit short tempered, however I probably would be too, working outdoors in 109 degrees. The experience wasn’t terrible but felt like a sales pitch they kept trying to upgrade us and get us to spend more money, and also it is said to be in the “airport” it is NOT, you will need to schlep your luggage onto one shuttle to one location then switch to a different shuttle, so you’ll be taking 2 shuttles to and from this rental location FYI.

We reserved a premium SUV for our planned road trip as we needed enough space for a family of 8. As we arrived to the Enterprise location, we were told they had no premium SUVs available. They kept trying to give us a minivan instead despite us telling them there were 8 of us, and the minivan only fit 7 people. Then they told us they were no other locations that had a premium SUV available, except for the airport Enterprise, but we had to have a reservation with them specifically as they have a "different system". They told us to just "go there" as they have a "lot of cars" and likely have a premium SUV available. Thankfully, we decided to call instead of just going there blindly, and sure enough, no premium SUVs in the whole city were available. They just apologized, never attempting to explain why you can reserve a car with absolutely no guarantee it will be available, and they did not even offer to make it up to us in any way. This was the worst experience and we will never rent from Enterprise again.

Drop-off at the SLC airport was quick and easy. Fabulous! When we picked up the car in Las Vegas we had to wait 45 minutes for a car to be available since they were over-booked. It would have been nice if a car was available when we arrived.

Arrived at the airport only to discover that the location was offsite. Went inside to pick up the car only to be told I had to wait almost 2 hrs to get the car at my reservation time. Was taken aback when they then proceeded to try and upsell me another car which I found distasteful having just heard that my car wasn't ready for 2 hrs. It escalated into an argument which I thought was very unprofessional on their part especially since I've been a fastbreak member for over 30 yrs. Had I not have a scheduled T time I and off airport I would have walked out. Experience was horrible

The young Asian girl ( sorry forgot her name) treated me so great. She was friendly and outgoing. The only issue I had was when I returned the vehicle after 1 day instead of the 4 I reserved. My dealer fixed my truck fast, but I was charged $100, again for 1 day. I had no idea I would only need it for that short of time, if so I would of rented it for just the 1 day. Again, the young lady who took care of me was awesome and this is no way a slight at her.

When I was sent an email to “expedite my car pickup at the airport” I was sent to a screen at Budget saying my car reservation wasn’t complete and that the rate I’d previously been quoted wasn’t available. So I rented from a different company using a different app.

The pick up location was not clearly explained during the booking. Pick up location is important. This rental was a pickup from around the town instead of the usual Airport Rental Car Pickup. No rides were offered either to or from the airport. The customer service received at this location was not stellar. Not much explanation was forthcoming unless i asked questions.

It was unfortunate that the staff didn't check the vehicle's condition before the hand-off. Luckily I noticed that there was a nail on the back tire. However, I liked how the agency handled the situation afterward, upgrading us to another available vehicle. The on-the-road customer service call-center personnel was one of the worst I ever encounter. One of them barely spoke English.

Picking up the car was very easy and convenient. We did have a little trouble figuring out exactly where to return. We picked up in Las Vegas and returned to the airport car rentals in Reno, NV. We had excellent service out of the car, good mileage, and roomy enough for luggage. There was a squeek in the braking system, though. I thought the brake was on at first. Returned car a day early because our flight was moved up. Thought it was a good price, and good service. No real complaints at all.
