Air Berlin have announced two new summer routes from their base at Nuremberg in Germany. The new routes will operate to Nice and Venice (Marco Polo).

easyJet will launch four new routes from London Gatwick come May. Three new routes will fly to Greece, more specifically Zakinthos, Kos and Chania, while the last route will be serviced to Antalya in Turkey.

Air Europa will start a new service from Madrid to Lima. The new flight to the Peruvian capital will start on February 22 and operate three times weekly. Come June 20 the service will be increased to four weekly flights.

Air Malta will from March 28 launch a new service from Catania. The new route will fly to Frankfurt thrice weekly.

Lufthansa will launch a new service to Baghdad and Erbil in Iraq. The services, starting next summer, will be the first to Iraq in 20 years. The German carrier first started flying to Baghdad in 1956 but stopped again in 1990 because of the Gulf War.

Continental Airlines have announced an increased frequency on flights to Oslo this Summer. From May 28 to September 10 the American carrier will up their number of weekly flights from seven to ten.

Ryanair has announced three new routes from Billund. From May, there will be twice weekly flights to Marseilles and Italian city Brindisi. There will also be three weekly flights to Malaga from the end of June.

bmi has announced that they from January 27 will scrap Business Class on all short-haul flights.

Less than a year after opening a new base at London Gatwick Airport, the Irish carrier Aer Lingus will cut down on the volume of flights at the London base. Due to a rough financial year the airline will only operate flights to Cork, Dublin, Knock and Malaga. All other destinations will no longer be serviced.

American carrier JetBlue Airways has launched a new service from its home base at Boston Logan International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica. Fares start from $ 99 (ca. € 70), and will fly each Saturday all year long, with the exception of the time between May 5 and September 1 where an additional service will fly on Wednesdays.

Germanwings have announced that they will launch a new base at Hanover Airport. There will be launched 15 new flights starting from May, with flights to Stuttgart, Bastia, Palma, Vienna, Barcelona, Heraklion, Moscow (Vnukovo), Zadar, Budapest, London (Stansted), Rome (Fiumicino), Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Milan (Malpensa) and Split.

Air Greenland will from May 8 to September 25 operate a seasonal flight between Nuuk and Icelandic capital Reykjavik. This will mark the first time a flight will be operated between the two cities. There will be one weekly service.

According to Norways evening newspaper "Aftenposten", will travellers on Norwegian Airlines flights have to pay if they request a seat which is different than the one they have been allocated. In line with several other airlines, it will also be possible for passengers to reserve their favourite seat - against an additional payment. Fees vary according to route.
 
In other news from Norwegian, they still have thousands of tickets available for 199 DKK (or €26) one way. Out of Copenhagen we found tickets to Bergen, Dublin, Krakow, Stockholm, Prague and Oslo for travel in February. This offer will end on January 18th.
 
Starting May 20th, Ryanair will charge passengers a £5 surcharge per leg for printing out their electronic boarding pass - at the same time as it abolishes airport check-in desks. Anyone who turns up at the airport without their electronic boarding pass will have to a £40 for a "re-issue fee", four times the current fee to check-in at the airport. The airline did however say that promotional fares that are advertised as "Free," "€1" or "€5" are excluded from the new surcharge, though the £40 re-issue fee applies to all flights.

Book by January 26th and take advantage of tremendous fares from British airways - both out of the UK and via connections in the UK. Fares include return flights to New York available from £299, one-way flights to popular European destinations starting from just £39, London to Los Angeles  £389 return, London to Bangkok  £569 return, London to Sydney  £669 return and London to Dubai  £325 return.

Lufthansa has launched a Winter Escape sale with flights available from the US to Europe and Africa. Flights are available to several big city destinations including Paris, Madrid and Cairo from all over the US. All in all more than 45 European and African destinations are on sale. Flights start at $ 458 for return trips. Travel from January 23 through March 28. Book by January 12.

Air France / KLM have launched a big sale on flights to many destinations across the world. Travel until June 15, and book by February 1.

Emirates will from August 1 launch a new service from Dubai to Madrid. The service is set to operate daily.

Air Berlin will in the summer season, from May 18 to September 21 launch a new weekly flight from Munich to Constanta, Rumania.
