Transavia has announced it will open three additional routes out of Copenhagen. The new routes will serve Pisa, Montpellier and Napoli, with two weekly departures to Montepellier and three weekly routes Pisa and Napoli. Tickets are expected to cost around 400 dkr all inclusive and one-way and will be bookable from the beginning af April. Transavia already flies to Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Faro (Algarve), Rom, Tenerife, Las Palmas, Nice, Salzburg and Innsbruck from Copenhagen.

Book by Sunday February 1st, GermanWings have offers at €19,99 - e.g. Stockholm to Berlin and €29,99 - e.g. Stuttgart to Zagreb, Köln - London Stansted and €49,99 - e.g. Köln/Bonn to St. Petersburg.

Book by February 3rd and take advantage of a 25% reduction on all EasyJet's routes. The offer applies to flights departing between February 4th and July 15th, covering 16 million seats on EasyJet routes. Earlier in the month, EasyJet announced that it plans to expand to North America - watch this space for more news.

RyanAir will launch new routes from Gatwick to Marseille, starting March 30th and with a start-up offer of GBP 10 per flights for bookings made before February 3rd. In addition RyanAir will start East Midlands to Ibizia, starting March 31st and with fares starting at GBP 28 one way, taxes and charges included - but not baggage.

In other news, East Midland's airport has now opened a train connection with over 100 daily departures - making it easier for passengers to get to the airport.

Lufthansa has announced a number of offers enabling you to explore Africa - with special offers to Casablanca, Johannesburg and Lagos. Flights must be booked before February 3rd.

Danish carrier CimberSterling has announced a number of great offers as it starts up different routes following the takeover of Sterling. Copenhagen to Londow Gartwick from 198 DKR, Edinburgh starts March 29th with fares from 198 DKR, Nice starts February 9th and Malaga starts 10th February, both destinations with fares starting at 498 DKR. Finally Billund to Rome starts March 3rd and likewise costs 498 DKR. All fares are one-way and includes taxes etc.

Why not be inspired by Momondo's resident Prague blogger Jason Mashak and visit the Czech capital. Czech Airlines will add an extra daily flight between Copenhagen and Prague from it's summer schedule (March 29th), taking the total to 22 weekly flights between the two cities.

In addition, Wizz Air has announced today that would enter the Czech market by opening six new routes to be operated from Prague International Airport. The initial route network will include services to London Luton, Rome, Milan Bergamo and Brussels Charleroi all operating 4 times a week starting February 19th and Paris Beauvais and Eindhoven starting 3 times a week from June 27th, at which London and Milan will change to operate daily

Transavia.com are offering big savings on 10 destinations from Copenhagen - just remember to book before 10am on February 3rd. Fares include Barcelona and Nice for 300 DKR, Rome, Innsbruck and Salzburg for 350 DKR, Malaga and Alicante for 450 DKR, Faro for 650 DKR and Gran Canaria and Tenerife for 850 DKR. All fares are one-way and include taxes and other charges. Trips must take place between the 2nd of February and the 31st of March and 20kg of baggage can be checked in at no extra cost.

British Airways has revealed that Business class travellers will soon be able to benefit from in-flight internet and text messaging on its London City Airport to New York JFK Airport route. It will offer text messaging, as well as the capacity to send emails via the internet from laptops fitted with mobile data cards. Voice calls will not presently be allowed.

Norwegian will stop operations from Oslo to Moscow from February 9th and Aeroflow cut back their operations on the same route. Norwegian will continue to operate two weekly flights between Oslo and St. Petersborg.

Danish carrier CimberSterling will begin operating between Copenhagen and Edinburgh on a twice weekly basis during the winter and three times weekly during the summer.Fares will start as low as ca. 200 DKR (GBP 25) one-way and including taxes and surcharges.

Stayover a Saturday night and fly with BMI to various destinations - both domestic and international. Return flights Edinburgh and Glasgow to Leeds start at £80 return and to Manchester at £90 return; whilst East Midlands to Brussels and Cologne start at £109 return.

British Airways has extended its sale to more short-haul destinations. The examples below are out of the UK, but BA has a world-wide sale from destinations atound the world, so check it out here on mmomondo.com.  

The sale, due to close on January 27 is now extended, includes cities such as Prague and Dubrovnik from £59 one-way (saving £24 each), Berlin and Milan from £55 one-way (saving £21 and £17 respectively), Budapest from £55 one-way (saving £20) and Helsinki from only £79 (saving £29).

Rome and Pisa start from £45 one-way (saving £11 each), Paris is from £51 (saving £7), Venice starts at £41 (saving £7) and Vienna from £66 one-way (saving £11). Bordeaux and Marseille start from £39 (saving £5 each), Lyon is just £50 one-way (saving £8) and Nice is from £51 (saving £6). Palma, Salzburg, Turin and Bologna all start from £41 (saving £7 each).


Air Berlin is reducing its fuel surcharge on January 27. On domestic German and European intercity flights the surcharge per flight will be reduced from £20 to £16, on medium-haul the fuel surcharge will be reduced from £28 to £20. On flights to Egypt, Madeira, the Azores and the Canary Islands the fuel surcharge will be reduced to £28 from £36.

On long-haul routes the surcharge will be reduced from £76 to £64.


Bmi will operate a five times a week service from London Heathrow to the Ukrainian capital Kiev starting March 29th. Economy fares start from £189 for seats booked before January 31st.

Today, Tuesday 27th is the last day to take advantage of Virgin Atlantic's Red Hot Deals on its long haul routes with great fares for most of its destinations in the US and Asia.

Lufthansa has launched a sale with fares to North America with prices starting at £ 359 (ca. € 381). The German airline offers flights to several big city destinations in the US, including Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington. The sale is on return economy class fares including all taxes, fees and surcharges. Travel before September 30 and return before October 31. Book by January 27.

Ryanair will launch over 20 new routes to three of its bases after announcing that they will add a new aircraft to its network. The routes will launch by the beginning of July and will operate new routes to Barcelona, Cagliari, Derry, Dusseldorf, Eindhoven, Knock, Leipzig, Limoges, Malta, Montpellier, Perpignan, Rimini, Rome, Seville, Toulon, Trieste, Wroclaw and Zadar from its bases at Alicante, Bristol and Edinburgh.

easyJet will from April 21 begin re-operating their route between Oviedo in Spain and Geneva in Switzerland. The service will operate twice weekly during the summer season.

Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced that they will launch three new routes from Stockholm Arlanda. The routes, which are set to begin operating in April, will fly to Chania in Greece, Faro in Portugal and Palma in Spain. Furthermore the airline will launch a route between London Gatwick and Aalborg, replacing the route previously operated by Sterling.
