US Airways will from December 18 reintroduce flights from San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport. A three times daily service will be offered to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, the same route which US Airways cut earlier this year. The new world largest airline was created last week, when Northwest Airlines’ board approved the merger with Delta Air Lines. The new company employs 85.071 people and will in the future be called Delta. Air France has launched a sale with flight deals on international basis. Routes are available to sunny destinations as Miami and Cairo, as well as big cities as New York and Paris. Prices are available from £ 94 (ca. € 119) for return tickets including taxes and charges. Ryanair will from November launch two new routes from its base at Shannon Airport in Ireland. The new services will fly to Franfurt Hahn and Newcastle.
Air Southwest is offering a domestic sale in the UK. Low flights prices are available from £ 29 (ca. € 36), including taxes and charges. Destinations include Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester and London Gatwick, amongst others. Aer Lingus is offering one-way flights on selected routes to Ireland. The sale offer one-ways, where you just have to pay taxes and charges. Flights are available from £ 25.30 (ca. € 32), including taxes. Destinations include Dublin, Cork and Belfast. All fares are subject to terms, conditions and availability. For travel between October 2008 and March 2009. Air Berlin is offering a German city sale, with one-way tickets available from £ 23 (ca. € 29). Fly from London Stansted to Dusseldorf, Hannover and Berlin, amongst some of the destinations. All fares are including taxes and charges, and are subject to availability. Thomsonfly will stop its service between Durham Tees Valley Airport and Alicante. The cancellation will come as of next summer, around the same time as Thomsonfly will be renamed Thomson Airways. The renaming comes after the merger with First Choice Airways.
Transavia will re-launch a route between Rotterdam and London Luton for the upcoming winter schedule. The route will be operated twice daily from October 29.
Air Iceland will from next year launch a new summer route to Greenland. The airline which already operated routes to Nerlerit Inaat / Konstabel Pynt, Kulusuk, Narsarsuaq and Nuuk, will from July 1 to September 2 also operate a route to Ilulissat. Air Iceland operates all of its routes from the main airport on Iceland, Keflavik.

After the collapse of XL Airways, easyJet has added three flights to Spain and Turkey trying to fill the void. They are operated extra services from Gatwick to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Dalarman in Turkey.
Jet2.com will launch three new routes from Edinburgh Airport in the summer of 2009. Launching on May 21, the new routes will operate from the Scottish capital to Ibiza, Menorca and Venice.
BMI and its subsidiary bmibaby are cutting down on routes in the coming winter season. From October 4, BMI will downgrade the plane size on the route between Durham Tees Valley and London Heathrow, while bmibaby will completely stop the route between Cardiff and Barcelona.
Aer Lingus will once again close down the route between Dublin and Copenhagen. The airline had been operating the route since October 27 last year, but is now closing down the route just as they did in 2006. SAS are now operating the route, as the only airline, on a two times a day basis.

Norwegian Air Shuttle will close down its route between Copenhagen and Warszawa. The route which opened on October 29, 2006 with 3 weekly flights, slowly closed down the route on September 1. The move now leaves SAS and LOT alone on the route with four daily services.
