Due to the sky-high oil prices, Sterling has been forced to fire every fifth of its employees. Especially the pilots are going to be looking for a new job, as 61 of the 135 fired in total are pilots. Besides the firings, Sterling has decided to “close down” its bases at Billund, Aalborg, Malmo and Gothenburg. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be Sterling flights to these cities anymore, but that you won’t necessarily find any Sterling employees at the airport.
