The British research company, Skytrax has crowned Qantas as providing the best food in economy class based on 15 milliion interviews amongst passengers around the world. Last years winned, Etihad Airways from the United Arab Emirates were this years runners up. Cathay Pacific top the list in First Class, whilst Austrian topped in Business Class.
Danish Sun Air have started a three times weekly route between Billund in Denmark and Gdansk in Poland, following last months start on Århus in Denmark to Stord on Norway's west coast, as well as Oslo to Stord.
Swedish NextJet, owned amongst others ABBA member, Björn Ulvaeus, will commence operations between Linköping and Copenhagen. Starting October 6th, NextJet will fly three times daily and once daily during weekends. NextJet already operate between Örebro in Sweden and Copenhagen.
Low-cost carrier RyanAir will cease operations of its East Midlands and Glasgow Prestwick routes from Cork at the end of October. The East Midlands route will end on October 26 and the Glasgow Prestwick route will end on October 28. RyanAir cited a 20% increase of airport charges at Cork as the reason for the closure.

If you have time to kill at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), three new art exhibitions exploring the city's natural and urban landscape are on display located in Terminals 1 and 2 on the departures level, and in the lobby of the arrivals level in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
In Terminal 1, 'Oceano Romantico' explores the beauty and the moods of the Pacific. In Terminal 2, 'A Place in the Sun: Desert Landscapes' is focussed on the deserts around LA, whilst in the Tom Bradley terminal, works based on urban LA are on display – this exhibition is entitled 'Alternative Places'.
All three exhibitions are free of charge and are on display through fall 2008. Only ticketed passengers can view the exhibitions in Terminals 1 and 2, but the one in the Tom Bradley International Terminal is open to the public as well.
As the environment becomes a hot topic in election year US, Denver Airport (DEN) implemented a two-megawatt solar energy system to help power the airport. The solar cells are spread out across some seven-and-a-half acres near the entrance of the Mile High megaport. Officials say it can generate more than three million-kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, which equates to a reduction of CO2 emissions of almost 3 million kilograms (6.3 million pounds) per year. Denver International ranks as the fifth-busiest airport in the nation, and serves some 50 million flyers each year. Let's hope more airports around the globe follow Denver's lead.
They may be the leading fashion of kids and teans (and even adults), but when it comes to travel, Crocs and flip-flops can be dangerous - at least according to officials at Atlanta's International Airport. An airport spokesman says at least three children have been injured in the last two months after their flip-flops or Croc shoes got stuck in airport escalators. Airport officials released a 35-second public service announcement that airs every five minutes at the airport.
