Cut downs from easyJet and Ryanair due to rising fuel prices

en by Travel News  /  Thomas Bloom, 23. Jul 2008
Lufthansa is having an Italian sale from New York JFK, with return tickets available from $ 420 (ca. € 266). Depart between August 18 and October 26 and return between August 24 and November 25. Travel to five destinations in Italy: Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin and Venice. Book by August 5. Jet2.com will from June 15 2009 launch a new flight from its base at Blackpool to Menorca in Spain. Tickets are available from £ 71.49 (ca. € 92) return, including taxes. Due to rising fuel prices, easyJet’s yearly fuel expenditure has risen by DKK 1.7 billions. Therefore they will reduce flights from London Stansted by 12 % in 2008 and 2009. Ryanair has experienced the same problems and has been obligated to close down 250 departures during the winter schedule. In other news, easyJet will launch a new route to Stockholm Arlanda, their second route to the Swedish capital. The route will launch in October from Milan Malpensa, and operate in the winter schedule.
